Lu Jinchen and Xia Yuqing walked out of the hospital together. The doctor had said the bullet had only grazed his arm. It was not a serious injury. He was fine, but he still couldn't move his arm much. Because of that, he had asked for a driver to come and pick them up.
Xia Yuqing followed him to the car. It wasn't far—just outside the hospital. As for Lu Jinchen's car, which they had used earlier, was still parked outside the aquarium. One of his men would take the car back later.
Now, sitting in the back seat of the new car, the air between them felt heavy. Neither of them spoke. Lu Jinchen leaned back in his seat with his eyes closed. His face was pale but calm. Xia Yuqing sat next to him, staring out the window. Trees, lights, and buildings passed by quickly, but she wasn't really seeing any of it.
