The next morning, Ethan was over the moon. He was up early since Nicholas would be here to take him to school soon. They'd come to an arrangement that he would pick him up from school and also take him every day. Nicholas loved the idea because he sees it as a way of bonding with his son.
He was so happy when he received the text from Amber this morning. Amber couldn't help but feel so happy about the whole thing. She is so glad he finally heard what he wished for. Now she feels like a proud mother who is now satisfied with her son's happiness.
"Mummy, is Daddy here already?" he asked, and she shook her head.
"He's on his way."
He jumped up excitedly. "I can't wait. My friends want to see him again. They like Daddy. They like the donut Daddy got for them."
She chuckled. "That's good to know."
"Daddy is coming for our soccer games, Mom. He is so happy to come. I told him I want him to come, not you," he said, and Amber pretended to be sad about it.
