Lillian steadily ran through the fog. Her eyes focused on a massive dark figure in the distance as it battled with another.
She then raised her arms, shielding her face from the blast of wind that exploded from their clash.
As the fog rolled over her, so did a thunderous, distorted roar. She brought down her arms and looked onwards.
The monstrous dark beings in the fog had disappeared.
She groaned, sensing the Beetle had relocated its battle elsewhere. She turned to the side and chased after them.
Her ears picked up the sounds of the battle. The snapping of trees. The soft, wet thuds of being slammed into the ground. And the high-pitched screeches and low roars of the monsters.
She finally found traces of their battle. Deep, narrow holes were dug in the grounds—several of them. These must be from their pointy legs.
