Finally, it isn't this cold.
Light also isn't that much of an issue, except for fact that it was night time and that the only source of light were the lampposts.
This level seemed pretty chill.
The kid got warmer and stretched, breathing in the abundant air.
"Oh well, it's been a pleasure. Good luck." - The kid said at the guy, before slowly walking away - back turned, but just as he was going to proceed further he spot some eye walking using it's nerves. He quickly moved away as the thing began to check it's surrounding.
The guy behind him has already began moving, so the kid decided to follow. From behind the corner, another one of those things cut the kid's path. It looked towards the guy, before turning around and looking directly at the kid.
The movements the eye made were quick and unnerving, inspecting him. With a quick movement it tried to take down the kid for good, but he wasn't having it.
At the last moment he dodged and no-clipped through the wall of the house.
The eyeball looked at the other which was already on it's way towards it.
As if they were communicating, the second went after the other guy, who by now had went into hiding, and the first one was after the kid crawling with extreme efficiency through an open window.
"The hell are this things?!" - The kid said shocked before no-clipping back through the wall and beginning to run trough the houses.
Even though he was in flight mode, he felt excited, thrilled even.
He was genuinely enjoying himself, but then out of nowhere another one or rather an eye.
It just looked at him and before he knew he turned into dust.
The darkness lasted for what felt like no time at all before he woke up on the island of level 999.
He rose up like a vampire and looked around. His mind immediately went back to the contents of the book. It did say something about this. But what was it exactly?
He wanted to go back and read it again. The environment listened as the ground felt as if it weren't there. The kid sank down with no issue.
He fell from the ceiling and onto the floor roughly. He was back in that library and before him was the book he needed.
As he reached out the library tried to take away his memories again, but he refused.
He opened the book and sat back comfortably against the railing at the edge, overlooking the lower floors.
He read further into the respawning and he saw a specific statement - "mother level".
"So that place is where I originate from..." - He murmured to himself, before closing the book and looking up.
"What are you then?" - He asked the place directly.
It didn't answer, it didn't have the capability to speak, so it dropped him a book.
With the title "The desire of knowledge", then another, titled "How to be a good trader".
"From that squid's account, it has traded my memories for the knowledge in those books. What if there was a better way?"
The kid sat down before saying: "I will give you my memories. Since it seems you want to experience and learn from life. In exchange, you are obligated to leave the memories of you intact, as well as provide me with a copy of a story that is made up from my memories that i can read and understand. While also providing me with any info you have that I need. How does that sound? If you agree - drop a random book nearby that I would hear."
He waited a few seconds.
"So that's how it is going to be?" - The kid said quietly.
He was smiling, holding onto the book with his powers. Now the question was does he go of with it or not...
Eh, not yet. He crawled back into a comfy position and continued reading, while also looking back on the events that has happened lately: the direct travel to here. As far as he has read from the other book with the general information: not all levels are connected, but was his mother level connected to this level?
At least now he had answers to seek, maybe the M.E.G people had answers. Not yet though, he read throug the book about him, learning about the abilities he was capable of.
It didn't take him long before he finished with the contents of the small notebook.
He closed and stood up before finding it a place to be put into.
After that he simply desired... And he appeared there.
Desire... Knowledge...
Does it even matter if I knew the answer...
He desired again, to appear at the suburbs.
Another no-clip later he was there.
"May none attack me." - He walked through the streets.
He was quickly killed off.
Atleast it wasn't painful.
He sat up from his laying position on the sands.
"It should have worked..." - He murmured to himself.
Taking a more comfortable position he let go of that matter and set it for another day.
He genuinely felt tired, not in the human way, no - he felt mentally drained.
Slowly he settled in a laying position, before closing his eyes and silencing his mind.
