Chapter 92 - texting

With Lysander primarily out of the picture, Rowan busy with family obligations, and Vaerion at arm's length… Asuriel couldn't help feeling lonely. Kismet was a great companion, but it wasn't enough to completely alleviate the aching solidarity she had begun to feel.

After meeting him on the rooftop, she felt closer to him – close enough that she was able to swallow her social anxiety and started sending him quick texts once in a while… and he proved to be more fun than she thought.

Their messages weren't dramatic. They weren't confessions or declarations, nor were they profound or poetic. Every conversation was an interaction between friends, draped in comfort and normalcy that Asuriel had been missing.

One night, as Asuriel stood on her balcony, looking at the night sky, she sent Tesreal a light-hearted observation.

[ASURIEL]: the moon looks weird tonight. kinda like it's judging me

[TESREAL]: The moon is a known celestial gossip.
