Chapter 103
Grey sat quietly in the carriage, his eyes staring out the window as the town of Kiten gradually faded into the distance.
They had left about ten minutes ago, and now they were crossing the border of a nearby town, heading toward the capital for the academy assessment.
The landscape outside shifted as they passed through fields, hills, and the occasional cluster of trees.
But inside the carriage, Grey's thoughts were far away. He couldn't help but reminisce about his time in Kiten—the triumphs and hardships, the loss of his father, and his first encounter with the mage who had helped him unlock his hidden magical affinities.
The rhythmic creak of the carriage wheels on the uneven road eventually broke his reverie.
"How long till we get there?" Grey asked, his voice cutting through the silence.
"About an hour and thirty minutes, sir," came the driver's reply.
