Despite still having many questions for Ruediger, Lariette shooed him to his bedroom after treating his back. The bruised area had changed color from red to purple, but the swelling had reduced a little.
Aside from putting a warm compress on Ruediger's bruises, Lariette also applied a topical ointment procured at a pharmacy in town. Paul helped her get one earlier today, including a few other items.
"You can't back down," Lariette told Ruediger as they left the living room, "I'll drive tomorrow."
Helpless chuckles rolled out of Ruediger's mouth as he heard Lariette talk with such a stern tone. Still, he thought the way she tried to act tough was adorable.
Lariette was talking about their driving arrangement for tomorrow morning. Ruediger was not suited to sit behind the wheel for a long drive. She barely managed to persuade him to let her drive instead.
