Cherreads

Chapter 68 - 68. Ritual

Chapter 68

Purple needles that exploded on impact and explosive cartridges filled with blessed mercury cut through the air, causing the vampires standing opposite each other to shorten, and the walls and parts of the tower to explode.

"You're quite annoying," Alucard said, but judging by the slight smile that never left his face, it was clear that he didn't mind.

"Heh, so that's how it is, huh? Then perhaps we'll move on to the next level." Incognito declared as his third eye on his forehead opened, glowing red.

Alucard's vision blurred for just a moment, and then he saw three different Incognitos in front of him.

"Hypnosis?" the vampire asked irritably.

"Oh, you know about that?" the gray vampire asked mockingly. - Well, it's something similar, but much more powerful, so much so that it even works on vampires, although it seems that it has almost no effect on you.

- At least it's starting to become a little bit of a challenge. Let's continue. - Alucard instantly releases 6 bullets in quick succession.

Unhappy with Alucard's disdain, Incognito immediately began to shorten, but this time one bullet still grazed his thigh.

- Aaaah! - the vampire screamed in pain, when his thigh seemed to start burning.

- Hahahaha, how pathetic! You use your tricks on me and not only got hit, but also screamed in pain?

Alucard's words really angered Incognito, so much so that he began to completely ignore the pain, furiously rushing into battle. He even managed to hit his opponent in the face once, sending him through the wall, with a victorious grin appearing on his face, which quickly faded from the sight of the vampire coming out completely unharmed.

- My God, I really felt it. - Alucard said, stroking his cheek a little.

- However. - looking around at all the observers around. - We don't want to disappoint our audience, do we?

I sat on one of the parts of the destroyed roof of the tower and watched as two, probably, the strongest vampires alive today clashed in close combat, turning into dust the stones that came their way.

- Even though I don't like it, but this time I have to let Integra take the place of the victim for a while. In the end, it won't affect her in any way, and the master will finally get a normal battle. Unless, of course, she herself chops up Incognito. - I muttered, while mentally hoping that I was not making a mistake, deciding to fully trust what I saw in the future.

Meanwhile, the battle from below suddenly took a different turn. Alucard pressed Incognito to the ground with his pistols that were absorbed into his head and chest near the heart.

- Last words? - Alucard grinned.

- Your filthy ears are not worthy. - Incognito spat out, after which the sound of shots was heard that pierced the heart and head of the gray vampire, whose body after a small convulsion fell silent.

- He covered the entire building with these symbols and did not use them? - Alucard asked in bewilderment, but soon he noticed that all the spilled blood was moving unnaturally. From which a mad grin began to spread across his face.

- Master. - I appeared next to him and pulled out clips with ammo from my inventory and handed them to him. - Here.

- Have you even stocked up on my ammunition, policewoman? - Alucard asked, accepting the replacement.

- Of course, master, I have three more clips for each of your pistols with me.

He listened and realized that he could no longer hear any of the Incognito's servants, and Seras's clothes were covered in blood.

- You're doing well, policewoman. Perhaps I'll reward you when we get home. - the vampire suddenly stroked my head.

- Then, will you teach me how to use a sword? - I asked, allowing myself to be stroked between the ears.

- We'll see. - Alucard smiled. Meanwhile, Incognito's body completely disintegrated into blood, which flowed into a pre-prepared ritual circle, which began to glow purple, and various lines and geometric shapes began to diverge from it, which soon covered the entire building and even went into the surrounding area.

A huge magic circle hung over the Tower of London, expanding for many miles, forcing people to run away in panic from the incomprehensible glow.

Alucard and I stood silently and watched as Incognito's body soon recovered from the blood. His eyes suddenly opened, glaring at us, and then his distorted laughter filled the area, becoming truly demonic.

- HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

As the laughter continued, I felt how the surrounding air began to become colder and colder, and if I were a human, I would have been shaking uncontrollably.

- Magnificent. - the vampire said, stopping laughing, and his body straightened up, as if it was pulled by strings.

- Now, we are finally getting closer to something. - Alucard stated, but as soon as he finished, Incognito instantly appeared in front of him, delivering a blow to the jaw, after which he flew through several walls and found himself outside.

- That was fast. - I said calmly, looking with curiosity at the hole made by the master's body. While Incognito looked at his hands in amazement, feeling his new strength.

- Ha, Ha-ha, HAHAHAHAHA! - As if he had gone mad, he raised his head to the sky and laughed again.

- This is amazing! I can't believe how much power I got from this ritual!

- Ritual? - I asked with interest, seeing that against the backdrop of the triumph he had received, this typical villain was looking for someone to sit on his ears.

- He-he, I suppose it's okay if I tell you. I want at least someone to know about what I've achieved, even if they die in a couple of minutes.

-…- I didn't answer, showing with my expression that I was listening attentively, and even my tail was swaying with curiosity.

- In ancient times, the gods would descend to our world and help humans cope with natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis. We would worship them and give them generous gifts in return. - He paused for a moment, wanting to achieve dramatic effect.

- However, humans are not just dumb animals. They adapted to the environment and became more intelligent. They even developed things that could do the same as the gods, thereby reducing faith in them. Until finally, the connection with the gods was lost.

- But humans are obsessed with wars, and the best way to win was still the gods, and then a ritual was created that required thousands of lives and long days to perform, but thanks to my genius, I was able to reduce them to only 50 lives and 12 hours of preparation, the only problem is that this ritual takes the life of the one conducting it.

- However, how could a genius like me not take this into account. I am a true ancient vampire, death is not scary for me.

- Oh, so that's how a weakling like you could break through so many walls with my master.

- YOU'RE SMALL!... it's okay, you're still just a weak pistomes who are incapable of anything after the death of their master. - Incognito began to scream in anger, but calmed down rather quickly, apparently deciding that I was unworthy of his anger.

- Pff, Ha-ha-ha! Do you really think that you can just kill the vampire king? You're even more of a madman than I think... - the next moment, my chest was crushed by a powerful blow, and I flew right into the same hole that had been created by Alucard's body before.

A huge hole formed in my body, exactly where my heart had been, and soon my lifeless body fell onto a mountain of rubble.

- What a nasty guy. - I shook my head standing next to my next dead body.

"You've become stronger, policewoman." - Alucard's voice rang out in my head.

"Master?" - I immediately recognized before looking at the mountain of rubble. - "You don't mean to tell me that you're just hiding under a mountain of rubble, do you?"

"I'm looking for a dramatic effect. It's always more fun to fight in front of an audience."

"Oh, so Walter and Integra will be arriving soon, huh?" - I asked, taking a blood bag out of my inventory to deal with the thirst that had appeared due to death.

"Yes."

"I see, I hope you like it, Master."
