Emily Parker felt a fire ignite within her the moment she heard Carlos's questioning.
She was already fuming upon learning that Sophie Parker had been exonerated, and now her anger was further fuelled.
Her arms folded across her chest, chin slightly lifted, she responded stiffly,
"Yes, I hit her."
"You didn't need to say those things to her."
Carlos's tone carried a hint of helplessness.
In truth, he wanted to say that if Emily truly cared about him, she should just talk to him about what was bothering her.
He didn't think much of her jealousy; in fact, he was secretly pleased, as it showed she had feelings for him.
Actually, she wasn't entirely absent from his heart either.
"Why,"
Emily's voice involuntarily rose as she sharply questioned,
"I called your beloved woman and made her misunderstand the relationship between us, and now you're hurting?"
