Carlos walked to the parking lot, and while waiting for the driver, he saw Evan Palmer walking out of the elevator.
Adam Willow followed him out.
"Watch out for the wound on your forehead.
It's best to get a scan at the hospital later, to see if there's any concussion."
Adam's words carried concern.
"Don't be too disheartened.
Mr. William has a great impression of you, and the X Institute will certainly choose Love & Kindness Hospital in the end."
Evan looked at Adam with gentle eyes, patting his shoulder, his expression much like a kindly elder.
Carlos leaned against a nearby pillar, recalling Evan's criticisms of him from childhood onwards.
He thought to himself that anyone who didn't know better would probably think Adam was Evan's son instead.
As Carlos's driver brought the car around, Emily Parker was talking with Evelyn Hanson.
