Emily Parker sighed. She decided to keep her feelings buried deep inside. Her last relationship had left her too disappointed, and she didn't want to start a new one that would end in vain.
As she was thinking, her phone rang. It was a landline number. She picked it up.
"Little nurse, why haven't you visited me yet?
The nurses here are so terrible; they won't let me eat anything."
A familiar voice came from the other end. Emily Parker's nose tingled as she heard it, and she softly called out,
"Grandpa, you're awake.
You were unconscious for two days. You've just woken up; you can't eat recklessly."
On the other end of the call, Old Master Carter sensed something was off with Emily Parker's voice.
"Have you been crying?
Who bullied you?
Was it that boy Carlos?
Tell me, and I'll hit him with my cane."
Old Master Carter had just woken up this morning.
