He informed me of their conditions for the support they provided. It wasn't anything abnormal.
People who didn't trust each other often end up making some agreement and giving each other something like a collateral in hopes of winning trust. This was also done by the emperor himself, he married mother of fourth prince according to the conditions established in an previously decided agreement.
But that wasn't the case here. The second Prince did everything he could, he helped him in the first place. Then it was them who had to win his trust, not the other way around
I knew this was beneficial but giving my love to someone else, sharing him didn't sit well with me. I wasn't against the idea, but the person opposite had to be of his standard, someone who could maintain his dignity and those barbarians didn't knew an ounce of common sense. Marrying someone from their clan was nothing short of bringing a wild animal into a well developed civilization and letting it go around.
I expressed my dissatisfaction to which I heard something I could even dream of,
"I was furious Wellesley, I wanted to burn them all. I wanted to kill them all. I wanted to color the desert with their blood, You know they asked me to marry a girl from their clan. Quite simple but I didn't know why was I even furious in the first place, 'Is it because some nameless tribe tried to put forth a condition or was I angry because he was asking for my hand in marriage while I had given myeverything to someone else."
and then he proposed me. His proposal left me stunned, I wasn't able to get it in my mind for a few seconds but when it registered, I was more than happy. If not for the people around me, I would have thrown myself into his arms right away.
I agreed right away, and enquired about the preparations but to my surprise. He said that he had everything done. And was fully waiting for my approval. I was smiling from ear to ear. I didn't know how long but have been there. I smiled so heartfully. On the wedding event, when I looked into his eyes, I didn't get a glimpse of his past self, The man before me was no longer a selfish one. He changed into someone who could do anything for my sake And I hope he doesn't revere back to his past self.
He is my life, my love, and most importantly my man and "today I promise you, Christopher I will refrain from doing anything that could causes harm that could separate us That could make you hate me and I will bury every past mistake of mine in the coarse of history"
I muttered in determination audible only to me as I saw him entering the the teleportation circle.
END OF POV
■■■■■■■■■■■
I closed my eyes because of the light and when I reopened them, Arslan and I were in the middle of the desert. We both had brought a small bag with us, not turning towards him, I glanced around trying to get our location or estimate our travel time and asked, "What's the time?"
But instead of answer, a strange sound was coming from his direction. When I turned to him, he was puking...
His condition was very bad. I looked at him and asked, "are you okay, what happened to you?"
Arsalan was looking at me and his stare had a question it was as if he was asking 'are you seroous, your highness how can you ask me that question after witnessing all the mess'
He finished his business and after cleaning himself he turned to me and asked, "Your Highness, are you aren't you feeling anything, like your head being dizzy, Nauseous or bloating stomach"
I found his question strange both of us were deprived of sleep but that didn't explain this, I couldn't understand why a fine man's health would suddenly deteriorated, when I his partner was totally fine, and I answered him the same, "Yes, I am absolutely fine, but why are you sick?"
Listening to my words, Arslan's expressions became strange. He raising one of his brows answered, "Because we used teleportation scroll and covered a month's travel in few seconds, it is general knowledge that this puts severe pressure on our body, my current condition is nothing but it's aftereffect, then again the question is why am I the only one feeling the pinch?"
I was surprised for a moment, his question left me stunned, As far as I remembered Wellesley had asked me the same question last night, 'so she wasn't bluffing and her concern was genuine'.
Thinking this, I turned to him and confidently stated, "since I am a prince, my health is absolutely fine. Now we should leave, If we delay any further, I will be missing out some much needed sleep, tell me what time it is as well!"
To be honest, I was also wondering why nothing was happening to me. Even after travelling such a long distance that too for so many times in the past few days, But I kept quiet thinking that since I was in the body of royalty and being one had it's own perks, for example the people of the royal family of this Empire were immune to psychological magic meaning any magic spell ranging from the holy church of Akrat to the dark magic of a necromancer didn't effect them. So I thought my resistance to this side effect is another one of that perks their blood offered.
Aslam bought my explanation and showing an expression of understanding, he immediately nodded and took out a small clock from his bag and looking at the time answered my earlier question, "it's 4:00 in the morning, Your Highness."
