Chapter 61 - LXI: vs Tin Tin

"Hahaha! Let's do it! Snipe-sensei, can we use the field behind the building?" Raiden asked eagerly, his excitement clear in his voice after hearing the aprovation.

Snipe let out a chuckle. "Oh ho, we're not using that old thing. We've got a new training field for fights."

With that, he stepped out of the room, leading the way outside.

To everyone's surprise, buses were already waiting for them. Without wasting time, the students boarded, and in no time, they were being driven to an unfamiliar part of the U.A. campus.

When they arrived, they were greeted by a massive dome-shaped building. The structure towered over them, its sleek metallic exterior reflecting the afternoon light. As they stepped inside, their eyes widened.

The interior housed an enormous battle arena, stretching at least fifty meters in every direction.

Reinforced metal walls surrounded the field, lined with thick barriers and graded platforms for observation. The entire place looked like it had been built to withstand an all-out war.

Without delay, Mirio phased straight through the ground and reappeared on one side of the arena. His uniform remained intact, a clear sign that he used a refined tracksuit suitable for his Quirk—his clothes no longer vanished when he activated it.

Raiden followed, his body glowing as energy surged through him. A brilliant light flared from his forearm, the "18" tattoed in his arm spread across his body as he shifted into his combat form.

In a matter of seconds, Mewtwo stood in his place, his levitating form gliding effortlessly into the arena, landing opposite Mirio.

As he took his stance, Raiden took a moment to observe his opponent.

Mirio looked different—stronger. He had put on a surprising amount of muscle, far more than seemed possible in the time they had been apart.

There was no need for words.

Both fighters launched forward at once, their bodies blurring with speed as they met in the center of the arena.

It was time to see just how much they had both grown.

This was just a sparring match, but neither of them treated it lightly.

Both were eager to compete, to see what they had gained through their respective training.

On one side, Raiden had real battle experience, and a couple of levels, having faced actual enemies in high-stakes situations. That gave him an undeniable edge in practical combat.

On the other side, Mirio had trained under multiple specialized instructors, refining his technique and strengthening his body.

He had focused on polishing the weak points in his fighting style—something Raiden hadn't had the luxury of doing, as his training had been more about direct fights than refinement, he hadn't done much physical training for example.

Back to the fight.

The moment their forearms clashed, a shockwave burst outward, sending a powerful gust of wind rippling through the space. The sheer force of their impact wasn't something any average student could perform.

Mirio wasted no time and didn't drive into a physical competition. His arm phased straight through Raiden's block, aiming a clean strike at his face.

But Raiden had anticipated it. Using his telekinesis on his own body, he twisted midair, avoiding the blow with precise control. Mirio's fist passed just inches from his cheek.

In the same motion, Raiden retaliated. His tail shimmered with energy, glowing a metallic silver as he activated Iron Tail, one of his newly developed techniques.

With a sharp swing, his tail lashed out at Mirio. The attack was fast—but Mirio's instincts kicked in. He activated his Quirk just in time, letting the strike phase harmlessly through him.

Raiden's tail slammed into the ground instead, shattering the arena floor on impact. A jagged crack split across the battlefield, sending dust and debris flying. Mirio phased through the destruction effortlessly, reappearing a few steps away, completely unharmed.

Raiden didn't let up. Before the dust could settle, he used his telekinesis to suspend the airborne particles, keeping them swirling around Mirio like a fog. With visibility reduced, he seized the opportunity, charging an attack in each hand.

Dark energy crackled between his hands as two Shadow Balls formed. Without hesitation, he launched them.

Mirio reacted instantly. Just as the attacks reached him, his body moved—no, it was more than that.

It was as if he had been launched to the side, propelled by an unseen force. In a split second, he was a good distance away.

Raiden's attacks struck the reinforced metal wall behind him, detonating on impact. A small explosion shook the arena, leaving dents and a scorched hole where the energy had landed.

Then Raiden saw it—Mirio's feet had briefly phased through the ground before he was flung away at high speed.

He wasn't just dodging. He was using his own Quirk to slingshot himself in precise directions, manipulating his movement on a much smaller scale than before.

Raiden smirked. So that's how he's moving faster, the ground is moving him, he used the natural rejection that occurs when he deactivated his Quirk to move at high speed." thought Raiden

Mirio charged toward Raiden at high speed, weaving in an unpredictable zigzag pattern. His erratic movements made it difficult to predict where he would strike.

Seeing this, Raiden activated Agility. His muscles responded instantly, his speed doubling. Now, he could follow Mirio's rapid movements with much more clarity.

As Mirio closed in, stopping just a meter away, Raiden acted. With a flick of his wrist, he launched Swift.

Eight glowing stars shot forward, homing in on Mirio's face. Without hesitation, Mirio activated his Quirk across his entire body. The stars phased straight through him, crashing harmlessly into the metal wall behind him.

But the moment he deactivated his Quirk, ready to strike, he realized something—Raiden was gone.

Before he could react, a flash of dark energy erupted behind him.

Boom!

A Shadow Ball detonated against his back, sending a wave of force rippling through the air. Mirio gritted his teeth as he was propelled forward with a pretty ugly wound on his back.

That's when it hit him—Raiden had used Swift as a distraction. The attack had forced Mirio to phase at the perfect moment, allowing Raiden to follow the eight stars and pass just like the attack located behind Mirio and strike from an unexpected angle.

'He tricked me'. Thought the blonde boy

This was new. No one had ever exploited his power to this extent before.

But Mirio had no time to dwell on it, he stood up and looked for Raiden.

He turned just in time to see Raiden above him, fist pulled back, ready to strike. Instinctively, he prepared to phase again—Wham!

A sharp impact struck his leg from the side.

Raiden's tail, reinforce with telekinesis had whipped around from an unexpected angle.

The force of the hit spun Mirio into midair, flipping him downward at high speed. His head was now racing toward the ground.

Not good.

But Mirio's instincts were sharp. He adjusted in an instant, twisting his body and using the momentum of Raiden's own attack.

Instead of crashing, he redirected the force—With a sudden burst of movement, he launched a counter-kick straight toward Raiden's head.

Raiden barely had time to react. He really was caught by surprise by the sudden movement.

He crossed his arms just in time to block, but the impact was far stronger than he expected.

What the—?!

Mirio's raw strength sent him "crashing" (he was floating before) to the ground, his feet slamming into the floor with enough force to create a spiderweb of cracks beneath him. Chunks of stone jutted upward from the sheer pressure of the impact.

Raiden exhaled sharply.

That was heavier than I thought, Mirio hit him like a truck.

He couldn't let this keep up. He couldn't let Mirio take the ritme of the fight.

Closing his eyes for a fraction of a second, he activated Calm Mind. His energy surged as his special attack power increased. Without wasting another moment, he focused his telekinesis on Mirio's leg, pushing him away with a sudden force.

Mirio was flung into the air.

Raiden extended his arms.

With a flick of his fingers, two more sets of Swift stars materialized around him, glowing with energy. Then, with a sharp motion, he unleashed them.

The golden stars phased harmlessly through Mirio, but they served their purpose—a brief distraction.

It was just enough time for Raiden to surround him with multiple illusions of himself, each one poised to strike.

Unexpectedly, Mirio closed his eyes.

Raiden narrowed his gaze. What's he doing?

The blonde boy took a slow, steady breath, to calm his heart, and slowly the frown on his face also receded. He didn't activate his Quirk immediately, waiting until the very last second—just as Raiden's real Psyshock was about to land.

Raiden attack missed, Mirio used his Quirk just in time.

Raiden smirked. He's grown stronger. Faster, too. This Mirio was far more refined than the one he had fought before at school. If this version of him had been at the Sports Festival, against the Raiden of the past, Mirio could had wiped the floor with him.

But the same applied to Raiden, he also had grown incredibly strong in the past couple of months.

Without hesitation, he activated Agility a second timeto prlong his effect. His speed surged to another level.

In an instant, he was in front of Mirio, unleashing a relentless flurry of attacks. Mirio dodged at lightning speed, his reflexes keeping up with Raiden's strikes barely , either he dodged or used his Quirk to avoid any damage.

At the same time, Raiden activated Laser Focus. His eyes tracked every minuscule movement, like looking for the precise place to strike with a critical hit.

He didn't let up. Raiden became a blur, flying around Mirio like a living artillery strike, launching physical attacks from every angle.

Mirio twisted and turned, narrowly evading each one, slowly Mirio grew more precise, he dodged with a little more room, he was learning as he fought Raiden, however, it wasn't fast enough, not to turn the fight.

Raiden saw it, a minuscule detail, just enough to give him an advantage.

A single breath.

A deep inhale—just a fraction longer than his usual movements.

It was the only moment Raiden had seen Mirio deactivate his Quirk completely, even for an instant.

That was all he needed.

Without hesitation, Raiden activated Disable.

Mirio's body tensed—his ability was sealed. His eyes widened as he realized he could no longer phase.

Raiden took advantage of the moment and sent another flurry of blows, without much more waiting, his feet glowed with energy as he shot forward at blinding speed leaving destruction behind. With a swift, precise motion, he used his tail as a diversion and struck Mirio at the base of his neck with one of his punches.

Right after, the blonde boy's body stiffened.

Then, his consciousness slipped away, and he collapsed on the spot.

Raiden had won the spar, but two things stood out to him.

First, his arms ached. Mirio might have lacked experience, but his body was absurdly tough. Every blow felt like getting hit by a truck.

Raiden had come out on top, but he knew that if Mirio had more refined technique, he could have pushed him even further—maybe even forced him to unleash more of his power, even now he felt that his arms were quite hurt.

Without hesitation, Raiden used Life Dew a couple of times, just to be safe. A soft, shimmering glow surrounded them, soothing their wounds and restoring their energy. Within moments, Mirio's eyes fluttered open, his breathing steadying as he regained consciousness.

Slowly sitting up, Mirio let out a soft chuckle, flashing Raiden a grin. "You're insanely strong, Rai-kun. Way stronger than before," he said, his voice sounding with a tone of admiration.

Raiden smirked as he let his transformation fade, his form shifting back to human. "The same goes for you," he replied. "But I get the feeling you weren't showing me everything, were you?"

question that only won a smile from Mirio.

End of the Chapter.

Double bonus chapter hahahaha.

Here I wanted to show te difference in power of the Mc, now, I know I know, he could have won in less moves, and all of you had noticed that he didn't use even half of his arsenal, that was obvious, it was a spar and he wasn't going to be launching an Hyper beam there.
