The moment the words left his mouth, the room froze.
Jack, Ryui, and Lina all had the same immediate thought: 'You freaking idiot, do you want to die?! Why would you ask about his daughter when you know he doesn't like talking about her?!'
Isakawa's expression remained unreadable, his fingers tapping rhythmically against the table. The silence stretched for a painfully long moment before he finally spoke.
"Maybe next time," he said calmly.
Ryui swallowed hard, his fingers twitching slightly. "But, Isakawa… what was that child?" His voice held an edge of unease as he blinked rapidly, struggling to shake off the lingering fear. "The one at the festival—from the footage."
Isakawa's lips curled into a smile, but the expression didn't quite reach his eyes. "She is my daughter, of course."
Ryui's blank stare remained fixed on him, as if he hadn't heard correctly.
