A knock sounded, interrupting my thoughts. I answered without bothering to look up because I knew who it was. "Come on in!"


Nikolai opened the door and stepped inside. He walked in with his usual confidence and I could feel his eyes on me the entire time as he yanked a seat and lowered himself into it. I looked up only to find him watching with an intense look on my face.


I looked back at the papers I was busy studying and then I looked back up at him when I saw he was yet to say anything which meant he must have been brought with some news and by the look on his face, it wasn't good news at all.
