Chapter 5 - Inside

As soon as we crossed the gate, a flash of light covered our vision and after a few seconds, we were in another scenario. It didn't take long for us to guess, we were on an Island, a tropical island in the middle of nowhere, an ocean with crystal clear water as far as the eye could see, a beach with clean sand and a forest extending from the center of the island. At first we thought it would be a hand with sugar to clean this Dungeon, but we were quickly reminded that reality and fiction mixed together. From inside the forest, something was quickly thrown onto the beach. When the dust in the sand settled, we could see a giant crab the size of a human being, when we looked at the forest again, what came out from there behind the crab, it was nothing out of a scene from Jurassic Park, a fucking Velociraptor advanced towards the crab, we first thought that the crab would be able to defend itself with its claws, but the Velociraptor was faster, it advanced against the crab, approaching the claw, it jumped, falling on top of the crab, and at the same moment, that Velociraptor bit and ripped off the left claw of that huge crab, at that moment I thought, thank goodness I'm not the one facing that thing, but before the fight between the two could even end, Ruby had launched a magical attack, both the crustacean and the reptile had not even realized that while they were trying to kill each other, they had been frozen from head to toe. I was impressed to see magic for the first time, well, second time, right? Necromancy still counts as magic, right? So I myself am something magical, but this is nowhere near as impressive as real magic. That's when I remembered, I can also use magic, or at least I should be able to, after all I also have a Magic ability, but let's leave that for another time. We were still a little surprised by the sight of a dinosaur. We organized a camp near the beach, near the frozen creatures, Ruby and Cassandra, both mages, were interested in analyzing the creatures in the dungeon. Modra and I were responsible for organizing the camp, checking the surroundings and basically keeping watch so that nothing happened to the two of them. It seemed like the end of the afternoon when we prepared dinner and were listening to Ruby and Cassandra discussing their theories, about how it is possible for an extinct reptile to resurface inside a dungeon, or what led to the exponential growth of that crustacean for it to be the size of a human being. We were sitting around the fire we made, getting ready to sleep and It's deciding the guard shifts, Ruby took the first shift, I took the second, Modra the third and Cassandra the last, of course I took the opportunity and slept immediately as soon as I lay down, after all a Dullahan must keep his rest up to date so as not to suffer later, two hours later, Ruby wakes me up, she tells me that nothing happened during her shift and goes to sleep next, I in turn am already up, stretching and moving to warm myself up a little, during the day the sun was shining brightly, but now the cold that took over the island seemed quite unnatural, I stayed on patrol until what would be four in the morning, and then I woke up Modra and I passed the role of watchman to her, and went back to sleep. I thought to myself that the night would end without any major problems, until I was woken up. It was still night and everyone else was already up. I thought something was happening and got up, preparing for a fight. Modra quickly said that there were no creatures around and that they had woken me up for another reason. I didn't expect our situation to become so drastic from one hour to the next, because what they told me was that it was no longer Modra's shift and Cassandra's shift had long since passed. So why didn't the sun come up? I thought the time zone might be different, but Modra denied this possibility, because it was not eight in the morning as I had expected, according to them it was already two in the afternoon, and there was no sign of the sun, so we all came to the same conclusion, to go through this Dungeon, now it would have to be at night, obviously exploring an island in total darkness is not the best idea, but what to do when it is already "too late", well jokes aside, we planned a formation, me in front, the mages behind me and Modra behind them, with magic protecting the sides and me and Modra covering the front and the rear, we entered the forest, we were walking close to each other because of the darkness, but in fact we could use magic lights, but in the midst of all this darkness, a single point of light would be the same as a lamp in the middle of a moth storm, so we walked through the darkness of the night, but thanks to my ability to detect life we were able to walk freely without facing any unnecessary danger, or so I thought, until leading the way, I could feel myself stepping on some kind of mud, but like everything in a Dungeon is dangerous, that wasn't just any mud, it was pulling me down into the ground, but when I say pulling, I'm not saying I was sinking like in quicksand, something was actively pulling me down into the ground and I could tell it was just that mud that was holding me there, noticing something was wrong, the other girls came to help me, both Cassandra and Ruby, getting a little impressed, apparently that mud is some kind of plant monster that devours corpses, and guess who it caught, I despaired at that moment, a cursed plant is trying to devour me, and if by any chance I survive, there is a chance that they will suspect my identity and despite the efforts of my companions, that thing had already put me up to the waist in the ground, I didn't know what to do, when the situation started to worsen, I hadn't noticed before, but what seemed to be a group of Velociraptors, was surrounding us, I alerted my companions and ordered them to leave quickly so as not to be ambushed, I had no other option in view of the raptors approaching, I dove head first into the creature being completely surrounded by that goo, I could feel the raptors walking above me, but there was nothing else I could do,There was nothing else I could do, other than worry that they had escaped safely and pray that I wouldn't be conscious when it was all over.
