Chapter 84 - MANAV'S INSIGHT

The palace stood atop a grand citadel, its towering spires piercing the sky like blades of judgment. Within its hallowed halls, behind layers of security and unseen forces, sat **Manav**, the eternal ruler. His throne room was vast, yet eerily silent—adorned not with gold and jewels, but with knowledge, maps, and relics of countless eras. Unlike rulers who surrounded themselves with luxury, **Manav preferred silence, wisdom, and control.**

His fingers traced the edges of an ancient tome, its pages older than most civilizations. His eyes, ageless yet sharp, flickered with something rare—**concern.**

A soft knock echoed.

**Karael** entered. The **strategist of the Goodie Hunters**, an enigmatic woman with piercing eyes and a mind sharper than any sword, moved with practiced grace. She never wasted movement, never spoke without intent.

Manav didn't look up. He didn't need to. He already knew why she was here.

_"Vinay is preparing for war,"_ she said, her voice devoid of panic.

Manav closed the book. "Of course he is."

There was no surprise, no urgency. Just cold acknowledgment.

**"And you're not concerned?"** Karael inquired, stepping forward.

Manav leaned back, exhaling through his nose. "Vinay is ruled by anger, not wisdom. He thinks he is the hunter, but he does not realize—he is the hunted."

Karael folded her arms. "Then why let him move so freely?"

Manav finally looked up, his gaze boring into hers. **"Because a man blinded by rage destroys himself faster than any enemy could."**

Reports had already started flowing in. Vinay was **gathering his commanders**, fueling their spirits with **visions of justice, vengeance, and conquest**. **Manav had ruled for centuries. Was it fair? Was it just?** Those were the questions Vinay planted in his people's minds, twisting the narrative, igniting their fury.

Manav knew **anger was a powerful tool**, but only **if the wielder was wise enough to control it.** Vinay wasn't. He was passionate, dangerous, powerful—but predictable.

Yet, **war was inevitable.**

_"What do the reports say?"_ Manav asked.

Karael handed him a parchment. "Vinay's army is mobilizing in secret, but we intercepted messages between his commanders. The attack is not an 'if' but a 'when.' His numbers are vast."

"Numbers don't win wars. Minds do," Manav mused.

"And what of Vinay's mind?"

Manav smirked. "His mind is shackled by the past."

Karael remained silent for a moment, watching him. Unlike many who feared Manav's methods, she respected his approach. He was not cruel, but he was calculating. He did not react; **he dictated the course of war before a single blade was drawn.**

Still, there was a question lingering in the air—one Karael dared to voice.

_"Do you regret what happened between you and Vinay's great grandfather?"_

The air grew heavier.

For a fraction of a second, **something flickered in Manav's eyes.** A shadow of old memories, of past wounds. But just as quickly as it came, it vanished.

_"Regret is a luxury I cannot afford,"_ he finally answered.

Karael sighed, nodding. She had expected as much.

If war was inevitable, **preparation was paramount.**

Karael **assembled her own network**—spies, informants, tacticians. She began formulating **battle formations, fallback positions, counter-strategies.** Unlike Vinay, who charged forward with brute strength, **Manav played the long game.**

**Defense was never passive—it was the art of exhausting your opponent before they realized they had already lost.**

Manav, meanwhile, called forth his **top commanders.**

- **Ryan Jim, the strongest warrior**, honed his skills relentlessly, awaiting the call to battle.

- **Dain, the relentless tactician**, began drilling his soldiers in formations perfected over centuries.

- **Elyas, the silent executioner**, moved in the shadows, hunting spies before they could report back to Vinay.

- **Liora, the steadfast guardian**, reinforced the strongholds, ensuring the enemy would find no weaknesses.

- **Thane, the stormwalker**, patrolled the borders, anticipating Vinay's movements.

- **Karael**, in the heart of it all, ensured the war was fought **on Manav's terms.**

Their roles were clear. Their duty was unwavering.

And yet, **Vinay would never see it coming.**

As the night deepened, Manav stood on his balcony, gazing at the kingdom below.

He could feel the winds shifting, the tension in the air. The world was on the brink of war, yet he stood untouched, unmoved.

_"This is not just about war, is it?"_ Karael asked from behind him.

Manav smirked. "No, Karael. This is about something far greater."

_"And what is that?"_

Manav's gaze turned distant, as if peering through time itself.

_"It is about proving that gods do not fall."_
