Aria's eyes locked onto the woman standing before her, gripping a knife stained with Damien's blood.
The woman tossed the blade aside and whispered, "Even after all these years, I still hate the sight of you."
Aria tightened her hold on the book in her hands. "Who are you?"
The woman looked at her briefly before whispering "Even you can't open it."
Aria glanced down at the book. "What is this?"
"The most powerful magical artifact in existence," the woman said. "Wolves, witches, and all non-humans want that book. But most believe it's just a myth."
"So it's filled with magic spells?" Aria asked, still unsure of its importance.
The woman let out a dark chuckle. "No one knows what's inside."
Aria scoffed. "Then what makes it so powerful if no one even knows what's in it?"
Instead of answering, the woman took a step forward. Aria instinctively stepped back.
