Chapter 176: Battle Against the Demon-Eyed White Tiger King and the Diamond Mammoth
In the Fasno Province, beside a hidden waterfall, two figures stood: a rugged man and a young man. These were none other than Tang Hao and Tang San. Tang San was tirelessly training beneath the waterfall, wielding an ordinary iron hammer as he practiced the Chaotic Cloak Hammer Technique of the Clear Sky Sect with great effort.
Tang Hao stood to the side, seemingly lost in thought. His expression shifted between vacant, anxious, and fierce, displaying a range of emotions. Near him, a Blue Silver Grass plant grew. Though it appeared ordinary, its leaves bore thin golden edges, hinting at its uniqueness. Unknown to most, this Blue Silver Grass possessed both sentience and a soul. At this moment, however, it seemed deeply disturbed. Recently, she sensed an unusual event—another Blue Silver Emperor had been born among the Blue Silver Grass.
She had always been the sole ruler of the Blue Silver clan, even after taking human form and despite her current state. But now, with the birth of a new Blue Silver Emperor, she felt uncertain of her place. She couldn't help but wonder, If my son inherits the Blue Silver Emperor lineage, what does this make me?
Meanwhile, at Heaven Dou Imperial Academy, Yu Xiaogang watched over a group of students in training—the new Heaven Dou Academy team. Due to their age, Yu Tianheng and Ning Heng had already graduated from Heaven Dou Academy, as they were no longer eligible for the next Spirit Master Tournament.
Among those training were Dai Mubai, Oscar, Ma Hongjun, Zhu Zhuqing, Tailong, and Bai Xiaofei, along with some newly recruited talented students. These individuals were the academy's most gifted and strongest in spirit power, representing the best of the elite classes.
Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing had not returned to the Star Luo Empire, likely due to doubts about their abilities. Although Heaven Dou Academy's Team One had reached the finals and taken second place, they had not directly defeated the Star Luo Royal Academy. Both Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing felt that they still lagged behind Davis and Zhu Zhuyun in strength—especially Davis, who was on the cusp of advancing to the Spirit King level.
The apparent power gap between Davis and Zhu Zhuyun and themselves deterred Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing from competing for the throne back in the Star Luo Empire. It seemed that the emperors of Star Luo and Heaven Dou had reached an unspoken agreement, allowing Dai Mubai to remain at Heaven Dou Academy and even compete in the Spirit Master Tournament.
Despite the setback from the recent Spirit Master Tournament, Yu Xiaogang had regained his confidence, particularly given the level of spirit power and strength of the current Heaven Dou Team One members. His goal was clear: by the next Spirit Master Tournament, the team would have at least three Spirit Kings. He believed that with five years of training, Dai Mubai, Bai Xiaofei, and Tailong could all reach Spirit King level, and others might also break through with time and effort. Oscar and Ma Hongjun, in particular, held promise in his eyes.
During this time, Ning Rongrong had returned to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan a month prior for specialized training. Ning Fengzhi had summoned her back to the clan after receiving confirmation of self-created spirit techniques, and she would continue her training there. Ning Fengzhi assured Yu Xiaogang that Ning Rongrong would remain a part of Heaven Dou Team One and could rejoin the team for the next tournament.
In Sunset Forest, Yang Potian searched carefully for something. Having recently broken through to Spirit Sage, his strength had surged, and he sought a worthy opponent to test his newfound power. His target: a specific spirit beast within the forest.
After days of searching, Yang Potian finally found his prey—a Demon-Eyed White Tiger King. This beast was colossal, over ten meters in length, exuding a commanding and ferocious aura. The large, fierce eye on its forehead and the bold "King" character between its brows underscored its supreme dominance as the forest's king.
Without further hesitation, Yang Potian summoned his spirit and spirit rings, wielding his Broken Soul Spear as he charged forward. His only desire was battle—he needed to gauge his current level of strength.
The sudden assault didn't faze the Demon-Eyed White Tiger King, known as the ruler of Sunset Forest. It let out a fierce roar, meeting Yang Potian's attack head-on.
Facing this powerful beast, Yang Potian held nothing back and immediately activated his second spirit skill, Demonic Tiger Annihilation Strike. He dashed forward, both hands gripping his spear as he thrust it toward the White Tiger King.
Despite Yang Potian's swift advance, the White Tiger King, seasoned by countless battles, reacted quickly. It raised a massive paw, slashing downward with a force akin to thunder and lightning.
The Broken Soul Spear collided with the tiger's paw, sending Yang Potian stumbling five meters back. The White Tiger King, however, staggered back six or seven meters, indicating that both sides were evenly matched.
Yang Potian's grin twisted with anticipation. Tightening his grip on the spear, he launched another assault, this time utilizing the second form of his Broken Soul Nine Techniques: Spear Like a Dragon. His spear shot forward with an unstoppable force, accompanied by faint dragon roars.
The White Tiger King didn't retreat. Letting out another roar, it leapt toward Yang Potian, its massive form taking the brunt of Yang Potian's attack. Its paws struck at the Broken Soul Spear, aiming to land a critical blow.
In this exchange, the White Tiger King suffered a deep gash, but Yang Potian took some damage as well, a trickle of blood appearing at the corner of his mouth.
Yang Potian laughed, his face bearing a touch of ferocity. It had been too long since he'd experienced such a fierce battle—this rush of combat rekindled memories of the bloodshed in the Slaughter City, filling him with an uncontainable fighting spirit.
This Demon-Eyed White Tiger King was indeed worthy of its title as one of Sunset Forest's apex predators. It possessed strength comparable to a high-level Spirit Douluo, with a physique built for intense battles.
Yang Potian gripped his spear tightly, advancing once more. This time, he employed Ten Thousand Blades into One, thrusting the spear forward and unleashing a barrage of spear shadows that coalesced into a powerful singular thrust aimed at piercing the White Tiger King.
Sensing imminent danger, the Demon-Eyed White Tiger King roared furiously. A beam of light shot out from the large, magical eye on its forehead, intercepting Yang Potian's powerful Ten Thousand Blades into One spear technique, accompanied by a resounding tiger's roar.
To Yang Potian's surprise, the White Tiger King managed to withstand the attack head-on. Though a massive wound marred its body, it hadn't sustained critical damage. Seeing this, Yang Potian burst out in laughter, his eyes flashing with excitement. "Now this is a real fight! It's been too long since I've felt this thrill."
Without hesitation, the red glow of his first and third spirit rings activated simultaneously. He unleashed his Thousandfold Force and Golden Strength techniques, amplifying both his physical power and the weight of his Broken Soul Spear. The spear's tip glinted sharply, gleaming with an intense light as he launched another attack at the White Tiger King.
The tiger roared defiantly and charged forward to meet him, undeterred by the strength of its opponent. The battle between man and beast raged fiercely, each trading brutal blows. Yang Potian held back from using his True Form of the Weapon Spirit, reserving his full strength.
After half an hour of ferocious combat, the battle finally reached its conclusion. Yang Potian's body bore numerous cuts and bruises, with several fractured bones from his reckless exchanges with the White Tiger King. He could have avoided much of the damage by not engaging head-to-head, but the thrill of battle had spurred him on.
The White Tiger King, meanwhile, lay on the ground, its massive body riddled with severe wounds. Deep punctures marred its hide, and its strength was all but spent. Yet it continued to growl defiantly, a spark of undying will to fight still burning in its eyes.
At that moment, three figures suddenly appeared around Yang Potian, each exuding an aura of formidable power. Yang Potian had sensed their approach long ago but hadn't been interested enough to acknowledge them. If they dared to interfere, he thought, he would simply eliminate them.
The three newcomers positioned themselves to encircle Yang Potian. The leader spoke, "Friend, we are from the Elephant Armored Clan. Since this Demon-Eyed White Tiger King isn't dead yet, would you be willing to let us take it?"
Yang Potian sneered. "Three insignificant nobodies. Leave now, or face the consequences."
The leader's expression darkened. "Kid, you're already injured. I advise you to reconsider and back off."
Unfazed, Yang Potian replied, "The Elephant Armored Clan is hardly impressive. Even if your clan master, Huyan Zhen, were here, he wouldn't dare speak to me this way. Leave, or none of you will walk away."
One of the men at the leader's side scoffed, "Why are we wasting time talking? This kid isn't budging. Let's just kill him."
The second elder of the Elephant Armored Clan hesitated, looking at Yang Potian. "Your spirit looks like it belongs to the Yang Clan. There's no need for a major conflict between our clans. We only want the White Tiger King."
Yang Potian's gaze turned icy. "You might want to ask your clan master if he dares to steal from the Yang Clan."
The second elder glanced back at the critically injured White Tiger King, seeming to waver for a moment. Finally, he clenched his jaw. "Attack!"
With that, all three summoned their spirits and spirit rings. Their spirits were all Diamond Mammoths, and each of them wielded substantial power—the second elder was a Spirit Douluo, while the other two were Spirit Saints.
Yang Potian smirked coldly. His body, though bearing wounds, showed remarkable recovery without the use of any spirit skills. The previous battle had been thrilling, but he hadn't used his full strength. Now, with a Spirit Douluo coming to him, he could truly unleash himself in battle.
As the three lunged forward, Yang Potian calmly summoned his Broken Soul Spear and activated his spirit rings. The sight of his ten-thousand-year spirit ring made the three men hesitate, visibly stunned.
Yang Potian activated his seventh spirit skill: True Form of the Weapon Spirit, causing a towering phantom to appear around him. The Broken Soul Spear expanded to massive proportions, its menacing form radiating with overwhelming force—a true form that only a ten-thousand-year spirit ring could create.
With a mighty swing, Yang Potian blocked their initial attack, then flashed forward, appearing beside one of the Spirit Saints. He struck out with his spear, aiming straight at the Spirit Saint.
In a desperate attempt to defend, the Spirit Saint used his ten-thousand-year spirit skill, but his defense shattered like paper. Yang Potian's spear pierced through his body and his spirit avatar, leaving him dead on the spot.
The remaining two, horrified at the sight of their comrade's swift defeat, quickly activated their spirit true forms, transforming into massive Diamond Mammoths. But Yang Potian appeared before the second Spirit Saint almost instantly, launching the second form of his Broken Soul Nine Techniques: Spear Like a Dragon. The massive spear thrust forward with a dragon's roar, charging with unstoppable momentum.
Seeing no other choice, the Spirit Saint used his sixth spirit skill, Mammoth Guardian, hoping to withstand the devastating attack. However, Yang Potian's spear tore through his defenses, puncturing his armor and piercing his body.
The last man, the Spirit Douluo, watched in sheer terror. Two of his comrades had been killed in moments, and the young man before him was a terrifying force. In desperation, he turned to flee.
Yang Potian laughed coldly and activated his fourth spirit skill, Tiger's Roar Pierces a Thousand Armies. The Broken Soul Spear glowed with an icy brilliance as it shot toward the fleeing elder.
The elder tried to escape, but the spear closed in rapidly, accompanied by a sharp whistle as it tore through the air. Gritting his teeth, the elder activated his eighth spirit skill, Diamond Defense, forming a massive shield of diamond to block the oncoming spear.
But the force behind the Broken Soul Spear was unstoppable. It shattered the elder's eighth spirit skill, breached his defenses, and impaled him to the ground, creating a massive crater. The second elder was reduced to shattered remains.
Retrieving his Broken Soul Spear, Yang Potian shook his head with a smirk. "Pathetic strength, trying to rob me? They really overestimated themselves."
