Chapter 17 - to bathe you in flowers

"You drew this?" Xenith asked blankly holding up a realism sketch of Xenith showing with flowers blooming out of the faucet covering anything presumptuous.

"Perverted" he spat the words like dirt in his mouth.

"Do not dare to draw me again" he said and seemed like he was about to tear it up but hesitated and ended up crumpling it instead tossing it at Maxciel.

Honestly Maxciel couldn't tell if he was ecstatic or embarrassed. For one, Xenith had seen one of his sketches, one of Xenith himself no less. But on the other hand, in his line of work, he's learned to detect even the slightest moments of hesitation. He saw the jerk of Xenith's wrist as he went to tear the paper, the slight conflict crossing his features for that fraction of a moment. He cared about it.

Maxciel couldn't help but smile and open the crumpled ball of paper, attempting to smooth it out the best he could.

"Should I remove the flowers next time?" Maxciel teased with a playful grin.

The provocation caused Xenith to quickly whip his head to the side to look at Maxciel. His lips quickly pressing into a scowl and his eyes squinting to a glare. He stomped forward and stole the paper from Maxciel's hands this time not hesitating for a second to tear it into tiny pieces.

"Keep my visage out of your minds eye" Xenith said letting the pages fall to the ground.

Maxciel just kept grinning he knew something like this would happen if he provoked Xenith but he just couldn't help it, his future boyfriend just had way too cute of an angry face to even stand. Only god knows what he'd give to make out with this man. To press his lips to those soft cherry colored lips. To explore that which is the warmth of his soul through his mouth. To taste the depths of his heart through his flavor.

"I now add, you're not allowed to look at me at all!" Xenith added sensing foul intentions from Maxciel's adoring gaze.

"You're only allowed to be blind as long as you're in my house" Xenith said and carelessly tore off part of his shirt only to tie it around Maxciel's face, covering his eyes

"Pfft— what?" Maxciel just burst out laughing but decided just for a little while he'd comply with his future boyfriend's wishes.

After all, even this, this crazy foolishness with on par solutions, he couldn't help but find adorable.

"All right, I'll be blind. Guess you'll have to guide and take care of me while I adapt to my new loss of vision" Maxciel said with a dramatic sigh, knowing he could still see through the thin fabric of Xenith's shirt, though his vision definitely was inhibited.

Xenith flinched at those words. After all, if Maxciel couldn't see he'd definitely break stuff whether he intended to or not, make messes, loose things. And that, that would also piss Xenith off. So, he was now left in a difficult predicament, allow Maxciel to look at him, or risk living in messed and having his crap broken.

With clear reluctance Xenith removed the blindfold clearly aggravated. "You've made me ruin a good shirt for nothing" he complained with a scoff.

"Now— go out of my sight, somewhere far where you can't look at me at all you creep" Xenith scolded and ushered Maxciel out of the room and back into his bathroom where it'd long been decided Maxciel belonged.

Maxciel was very, very pleased. Xenith was beginning to care. Maybe not much, and definitely not romantically, but non the less, he cared and that's what mattered, progress. He's one step closer to kissing those lips he dreams of, to creating a romantic relationship with the man he loves most.
