Chapter 306 - Karkaroff is questioned

Fleur looked at Harry who had walked in and asked, "What's wrong, do they want us to go back to the Great Hall?"

Fleur thought that Harry was just sent to deliver a message, and she didn't think of Harry as the fourth champion at all.

Lynn, who knew the truth, smiled at Harry and made room for him. Different from his own method of breaking the ban and throwing in the parchment, Barty Jr. directly used the Confusion Charm on the Goblet of Fire, identifying Harry as the champion of the fourth magic school.

Otherwise, relying solely on Harry's own abilities, even if he were to break through the age limit and compete with them, Harry would never be able to become a champion of Hogwarts.

Although Lynn could have used the same method to become the fifth champion, the fact that Hogwarts already had two champions had already made Madam Maxime and Karkaroff very dissatisfied.

If Lynn became the fifth champion, and the number of champions at Hogwarts was more than that of the other two magic schools combined, then it would not be a big deal if Madame Maxime and Karkaroff forcibly withdrew from the competition out of anger. But if it affected their plan against Voldemort, that would be a big deal!

Therefore, Lynn chose to replace Cedric and become the champion of Hogwarts. Although this was a little unfair to Cedric, he could save his life and keep his own plan intact. Why wouldn't Lynn do it?!

Before Harry could answer Fleur's question, the door was opened again, and a flurry of footsteps could be heard.

Ludo Bagman entered the room and, seizing Harry's arm, he led him forward, muttering under his breath, "This is surreal! Absolutely surreal! Gentlemen and madam, allow me to introduce... as incredible as it may seem... the Fourth Champion of the Triwizard Tournament!"

As Ludo spoke, he took Harry to the fire. He turned around and said to Lynn and the other two.

Hearing this, Krum straightened up and looked Harry up and down. It was obvious that he did not think Harry had what it took to be a champion in the Triwizard Tournament.

Fleur retorted: "This is obviously a mistake. He can't participate in the competition. He is too young."

Ludo rubbed his smooth chin, lowered his head, looked at Harry with a smile, and said: "This is indeed surprising, but, as you know, the age limit is only implemented this year as an additional safety measure. Now that his name has been sprayed out of the Goblet of Fire... I mean, I think that since it has come to this, we are not allowed to escape... The rules are very clear, you must abide by them... Harry must do his best..."

Before Ludo could finish his words, the door behind them was pushed open again and a large group of people rushed in.

The first to come was Dumbledore, and behind him followed Barty Crouch Sr., Karkaroff, Madame Maxime, Professor McGonagall, and Professor Snape.

Before Professor McGonagall closed the door, they could hear the voices of thousands of young wizards talking in the hall next door.

After silence returned to the room, Madame Maxime asked Dumbledore, "What on earth does this mean, Dumbledore?"

"I would like to know that, too, Dumbledore," Karkaroff said, with a cold smile on his face and a chill in his icy blue eyes. "Hogwarts has two champions? I don't remember anyone telling me that the host school can have two champions... Didn't I read the bylaws carefully enough?"

As he said this, Karkaroff sneered briefly, and his laughter was very unpleasant.

"That's impossible," said Madame Maxime, placing her hands on Fleur's shoulders. "It's not fair that Hogwarts can't have two champions."

Karkaroff still had that icy smile on his face, and the coldness in his eyes deepened. He said in a cold voice: "First it was Lynn Rowle, and now it's Harry Potter. In our impression, your age limit can exclude underage competitors, Dumbledore. Otherwise, we will definitely bring more candidates from our school."

Dumbledore replied: "When I announced the rules, I said that if they could break the restrictions I set, then I would not stop them from signing up for the Goblet of Fire. Obviously, Lynn successfully broke my restrictions, which means that his participation does not violate the rules."

Hearing this, Madam Maxime glanced at Lynn. She certainly remembered that Lynn was the young wizard who followed his teacher Wallison Green to visit his alma mater three years ago.

If it were him, he might really have the ability to break the alchemical ban set by Dumbledore.

As the principal of Beauxbatons, a magic school that attaches great importance to alchemy, Madame Maxime could naturally see that the restriction set on the Goblet of Fire was an alchemical restriction. Considering the identity of Lynn's teacher and grandmaster, it was not surprising to her that Lynn could break the alchemical restriction.

Thinking of this, Madame Maxime signaled to Karkaroff with her eyes, indicating that there was no problem with Lynn's participation in the competition.

"Then, what about this Harry Potter? I don't think this fourth-year wizard has the ability to break your ban. Or, has your magical power, Dumbledore, declined to the point where you can easily defeat a fourth-year wizard?!"

Karkaroff said with a hint of sarcasm in his tone, he looked Dumbledore straight in the eyes and didn't back down.

Dumbledore fell silent after hearing Karkaroff's words.

But at this moment, Lynn stood up, glanced at Harry beside him, and then said to Karkaroff in a dignified manner: "Principal Karkaroff, if your magic level is not a problem, I think you should be able to tell that Harry's name was cast into the Goblet of Fire, and it was not my method, right?! Even if Harry broke Dumbledore's alchemical ban, the most he could do was to cast his own name into the Goblet of Fire and compete with us, but he could not become the fourth champion."

Karkaroff's face darkened when Lynn questioned his magical level, but Lynn's words made him unable to refute.

At this time, Madam Maxime smiled gently at Lynn. She had a good impression of this disciple of Wallison. She asked, "So, Lynn, in your opinion, how did he cast his name into the Goblet of Fire and become the fourth champion?"
