Chapter 2 - After modification: Chapter 2 Xuanyuan Treasure Book

The night grew deeper, with the moon shining brightly and the stars gleaming unabashedly. The mountains echoed with the roars of wild beasts, and the croaking of insects and frogs, painting a lively scene.

Wu Xiaoyu slowly opened his eyes and found a strange jade token pressing against his chest. He recognized it as a jade token and called it strange because it was glowing.

He reached out to touch the jade token, and as it made contact with the blood on his hand, it instantly changed from yellow light to a colorful glow.

Wu Xiaoyu sat up and held the jade token before his eyes, wanting to examine it closely. Suddenly, the colorful light from the jade token shot into the center of his forehead, and his vision went white.

When he woke up again, he found himself in a picturesque valley with beautiful scenery and bright sunshine.

Inexplicably, his mind was filled with knowledge about ancient medical skills and astrology. More importantly, the valley was densely covered with valuable herbs like Lingzhi and ginseng.

Each ginseng was as thick as an arm and a foot high, while the Lingzhi mushrooms were as large as umbrellas.

If he took these herbs out to sell, he would probably scare the experienced herbalists who had been dealing with them for years.

He went closer to observe and found that almost every herb had bite marks on them, making them all defective products.

Nima! Who did this? It's simply wasting such precious resources! Before he could finish lamenting, he heard the sound of a stampede from the hill on the left side of the valley.

Wu Xiaoyu didn't know what was happening and had no idea what was rushing down the hill. He quickly hid behind a big tree to see what was going on.

In no time, the sound of the stampede stopped, and hundreds of domesticated animals emerged, leaving Zhang Dadan in shock. These livestock were actually gnawing on the herbs.

Ma de! So, it was these beasts doing this! Wu Xiaoyu was both angry and curious. He was naturally angry that these beasts had ruined such precious herbs.

But he was also curious because these beasts were carefully nibbling, afraid of pulling the roots out.

After a while, when the herd finished eating, they all dashed toward the hill on the right side of the valley.

Unable to contain his curiosity, Wu Xiaoyu followed the herd and, after crossing the hill, saw a clear spring flowing out from the rock wall.

After the beasts drank the spring water, their bodies glowed. Nima? What is this place? Why are these beasts so strange?

Seeing the beasts leave in a human-like manner, Wu Xiaoyu approached the spring and saw on a crystal-clear jade stone, three large characters written in clerical script: 'Drinking Water Area.'

These words couldn't have been written by those beasts, right? It seems there must be someone here!

Wu Xiaoyu began searching the mountains, but after a long time, he couldn't find anyone. Just as he was running out of strength, he finally saw a straw hut.

Excited, he rushed over and pushed the door open, but there was no sign of anyone, only dust everywhere, indicating that no one had lived there for a long time.

Disappointed, he was just about to sit down and rest when he found a book. Wiping off the dust, four big golden characters 'Xuanyuan Treasure Book' were revealed.

Since he couldn't find a way out or anyone, Wu Xiaoyu decided to read the 'Xuanyuan Treasure Book.'

After reading the preface, Wu Xiaoyu finally understood what was going on. It turned out that this place was an immortal family's farm, and the person in charge was none other than Emperor Xuan Yuan, the owner of the 'Xuanyuan Treasure Book.'

The preface mentioned that Emperor Xuan Yuan had cultivated for ten thousand years to attain the position of Immortal Emperor. Yet, such a renowned figure in the Immortal Realm was assigned by the Great Venerable to manage livestock.

Feeling disgruntled, Emperor Xuan Yuan threw the farm to the mortal world, resigned from his position, and traveled the universe. And Wu Xiaoyu was the fated person mentioned in the book.

The jade token pressed against his chest was the entrance to the farm, infused with a trace of Emperor Xuan Yuan's immortal power. Because it had been stained with Wu Xiaoyu's blood, it recognized him as its master.

Now, this immortal family's farm naturally became his private property. Be it the herbs or the livestock, they were all his.

Of course, the most precious thing was the 'Xuanyuan Treasure Book' in his hand, as Emperor Xuan Yuan had used the cultivation techniques in this book to attain the position of Immortal Emperor.

After being excited for a while, Wu Xiaoyu returned to the herb field, picked some toad herb, and then chanted a spell to leave this small world.

Upon returning to reality, he found that all his wounds had healed. Does this space also have healing functions?

After carefully keeping the jade token, Wu Xiaoyu took out his phone to check the time. It was already eleven o'clock at night. His parents must be very worried about him, so he hurriedly climbed out of the valley.

He had often roamed the mountains, so he was familiar with the terrain and paths. It didn't take him long to climb out.

But just as he left the valley, he encountered an even bigger problem—a fierce wolf blocked his way. Damn it!

Although Wu Xiaoyu was brave, he wasn't reckless. He didn't think he could handle such a fierce wolf. Was he to die just after his serendipitous encounter, without time to rise to glory?

He felt a thousand or ten thousand times unwilling. He still needed to take care of his parents and send his little sister to college. He couldn't die here!

He and the wolf stood facing each other on the cliff. Wu Xiaoyu knew he couldn't move, or the wolf would immediately pounce and tear him apart.

But his legs refused to listen, shaking nonstop. Hold on, hold on! Wu Xiaoyu kept psychologically suggesting to himself.

The wolf's belly was sunken, and its fur was messy and dull, indicating it hadn't eaten for a long time. Now that it encountered prey, would it give up so easily? It bared its fangs and let out a hoarse, terrifying growl.

Seeing the wolf ready to pounce, Wu Xiaoyu suddenly thought of the jade token in his pocket. If he chanted the spell to enter the space within the jade token, the wolf couldn't do anything to him.

At this critical moment, Wu Xiaoyu took out the jade token and was about to chant the spell when the wolf suddenly knelt on the ground, trembling all over!

What's going on? Could it be the jade token? Wu Xiaoyu suddenly remembered that the 'Xuanyuan Treasure Book' mentioned how after being assigned to manage the Immortal Realm's livestock, Emperor Xuan Yuan had authority over all beasts.

Now that he had inherited Emperor Xuan Yuan's farm, did that mean these wolves, tigers, and leopards were also under his management?

Wu Xiaoyu tentatively said to the kneeling wolf, "Stand up!" To his surprise, the wolf stood up, trembling.

Nima! It actually understood his words? Feeling bolder, Wu Xiaoyu shouted at the wolf, "Get lost!" To his amazement, the wolf tucked its tail and ran away as fast as it could.

Ma de! Am I even more powerful than the Mountain God now? The entire mountain must submit to me. With this, there should be no danger in venturing deep into the forest!
