Chapter 299: Dividing the Fruits (Part 2)

Charlotte watched Logan's transformation with a smile on his face.

Suddenly, Logan's hands transformed into sharp claws, and his muscles bulged, causing his clothes to tear apart.

"Roar!"

A low, resonant tiger's roar echoed through the hall.

In front of everyone appeared a massive saber-toothed tiger, standing over two meters tall. Logan stared down at his own claws and paws, bewildered and confused. His stern expression from earlier had completely vanished.

Charlotte took out a pair of handcuffs—Sea Prism Stone handcuffs he had specially ordered to be made. He carefully placed the Sea Prism Stone on Logan's body, and immediately, Logan's legs gave out, collapsing onto the floor. The transformation faded as he reverted to his human form.

Seeing Logan return to normal, Charlotte smiled and put away the Sea Prism Stone.

Logan instantly felt his strength return and stood up straight again.

"From now on, make sure to control your power properly. Don't let it get out of hand," Charlotte instructed.

"Yes, Dad!" Logan responded with a firm nod.

Charlotte noticed Logan had grown taller, from about 1.4 meters to 1.5 meters.

Does eating Zoan Devil Fruits have a height-increasing effect too? Charlotte wondered. His thoughts briefly turned to the Vampire Fruit he had stashed away, but he dismissed the idea for now and moved on to the next child.

"Julie! Your turn. Pick the ability you want!" Charlotte called out.

Julie stepped forward without hesitation, her face full of determination. Her confident demeanor made Charlotte quite proud. Though she wasn't too keen on her studies, she took her training seriously, often practicing swordsmanship under Esdeath's guidance.

"Choose the ability you like!" Charlotte encouraged.

Julie scanned the array of Devil Fruits, then tightened the grip on her sword at her waist. Her gaze finally settled on the Scythe Fruit among the Paramecia types. Stepping forward, she picked it up.

"Dad! I want the Scythe Fruit!" Julie declared confidently.

Charlotte glanced at the fruit in her hands and nodded. Though the Scythe Fruit wasn't exceptionally powerful, it had its unique advantages. If his daughter liked it, that was good enough.

Seeing her father's approval, Julie didn't hesitate and took a big bite of the Scythe Fruit. She swallowed it without changing her expression, impressing her siblings.

She didn't even flinch!

"Try it out!" Charlotte pointed to a few sandbags hanging from the ceiling.

Julie focused, feeling a surge of power from within. She approached one of the sandbags, drew her wooden practice sword, and swung it through the air.

A wind blade instantly shot out from the sword and sliced through the sandbag, cutting it cleanly in half.

"What? How is that possible!" Esdeath, who was watching, was stunned. She had almost mistaken it for a sword master's flying slash. However, she quickly realized something was off.

"No! That wasn't a flying slash—it was a wind blade!" Esdeath corrected herself.

Charlotte examined the damage and glanced at Julie, whose face had turned pale from the sudden exertion.

"Julie! Your ability is powerful, but it also consumes a lot of energy. Be careful not to rely on it too much. Remember, a true swordsman becomes a sword master through hard work, not by depending on a Devil Fruit. Understand?" Charlotte advised, worried that the fruit's potential might hinder her growth as a swordswoman.

"Yes, Dad! I understand!" Julie nodded firmly, her pale face still reflecting determination.

"Good! Next!" Charlotte waved his hand and looked at Philip.

Philip eagerly rushed forward without waiting for Charlotte to speak, already scanning the fruits on the table. He looked at the various Paramecia abilities and hesitated when his eyes landed on the lone Logia - Swamp Swamp Fruit.

He seemed stuck between choices, unable to decide.

"Take your time—no rush!" Charlotte said with a smile, watching his son wrestle with indecision.

Sometimes, having too many options was more of a headache than a blessing.

After a while, Philip finally made up his mind and picked up the Swamp Swamp Fruit.

"I'll take this one! I've always wanted to feel what it's like to become an element!" Philip said with determination, holding up the fruit.

Charlotte nodded approvingly. "If that's your choice, go ahead."

Encouraged, Philip took a big bite. His confident face immediately twisted in disgust, his entire face contorting as he struggled to swallow.

After forcing down the last bite, he tossed the core aside. "Ugh! That was disgusting!"

Suddenly, his body turned into a puddle of thick, dark mud.

"This... is Logia element transformation?" Philip murmured, fascinated as he experimented with forming and reshaping his mud-like limbs. He discovered that he could change into various shapes at will.

"Hahaha! I'm a Logia user now!" Philip boasted, glancing smugly at Trunks, who seemed irritated.

Trunks gritted his teeth, clearly upset that his older brother had snagged the fruit he had his eyes on.

"Philip! Try turning back to normal!" Charlotte interrupted, bringing Philip back from his moment of pride.

After some effort, Philip reverted to his human form, standing confidently once again.

"Not bad! Keep practicing and learn to control it well. Remember, though—don't rely too much on your fruit ability. Physical strength and endurance are still the foundation. Always keep that in mind!" Charlotte advised sternly.

"Yes!" Philip and the other children responded loudly, taking his words seriously.

"Alright! Next!" Charlotte gestured to Trunks, already aware that Trunks was a bit of a problem child.

Trunks stepped forward with an annoyed look, muttering under his breath about how Philip had stolen his choice. Nevertheless, he turned his attention to the remaining Devil Fruits, still determined to pick one for himself.
