Chapter 12 - Chapter 11: The Not-So-Bad Dad

The house in the north of the city that Ye Qiu bought was on the first floor, facing each other. He bought two sets at once, both with a nice three-bedroom and two-living room layout.

Considering that the second eldest and his family had come over, Ye Qiu thought that Ye Xiaomei would probably move to the city soon too. When that happened, having two families living together would surely make life more interesting.

The house was bought with fine decoration, but only had hard installations without soft furnishings. Initially, Liu Ping even thought about moving the sofas, beds, TVs, and curtains from Ye Qiu's house, but Ye Qiu did not say anything and just went to find Ye Xiu.

Perhaps feeling empowered by becoming a team leader and a future top leader, or maybe feeling that his wife had held him back and lost face, Ye Xiu fiercely scolded Liu Ping for the first time.

The mother-in-law watched coldly from the side. Liu Ping, hoping her husband would pull her family up after he made it, didn't dare to talk back.

Still, Chen Wen didn't want to use their used bedding and simply gave all the bedding to them.

However, equipping a three-bedroom and two-living room house with other necessities, even the cheapest items, would cost a significant amount of money.

Granny Ye wouldn't offer any money. After living in Ye Qiu's meticulously managed house and then seeing the furniture Liu Ping purchased, even draining all her savings didn't earn her a kind look from her mother-in-law and husband, and even her beloved son lost his temper at her.

Thinking that her husband had already started working and would bring home a good salary next month, and she could buy nice clothes and shoes, she gradually swallowed her anger.

Ye Qiu didn't care about the chaos here. During the summer vacation, he planned to take his wife and kids to his newly built seaside resort for a vacation.

However, as they were about to leave, they were followed by a little tagalong, Ye Qiu stared at Ling Heng's delicate face, and looking at the child's father with a flattering smile, he eventually surrendered to the request of his daughter, Nuonuo.

After a few years of companionship, the two kids became very close friends. However, Ye Qiu always felt that Ling Heng was too cunning, deceiving his daughter's pure heart.

"Your son is still as annoying as ever. Brother Ye and his wife run such a big company, yet they are still childlike," Ruan Xin humorously patted her husband's shoulder as they watched the car drive away.

"He owns more than just one clothing company," Ling Zhiyuan said meaningfully: "Not counting his wife's property, his personal wealth alone would rank him here among our entire country."

Ling Zhiyuan made a gesture, leading to a shocked exclamation from Ruan Xin: "That impressive!"

"That's a conservative estimate; probably only his wife knows exactly how wealthy he is," Ling Zhiyuan sighed deeply. He had thought that he was one of the elites among his peers, but compared to Brother Ye, who relied on his family's power to ascend, he was still far from enough.

Ruan Xin was also deeply impressed. A man with no significant education or connections coming from the countryside achieving such success is certainly rare.

Especially a man so capable, wealthy, and handsome—she didn't believe no women threw themselves at him. But from her years of observation, Ye Qiu deeply loved his wife and kids. Unless his work was very urgent, he almost always made it home in time for dinner every night and barely glanced at other women.

At the same time, she also felt that Ye Qiu's knowledgeable, beautiful, and charming wife, and well-behaved, cute daughter were reasons enough for him not to want to risk his happy family life for fleeting temptations.

Ye Qiu Resort was built by the seaside, approximately a four-to-five-hour drive from the provincial city. They set off early in the morning and arrived at their destination by noon.

This resort, in terms of area, currently ranks first in the country.

During its construction, the local government provided substantial support, setting aside two beaches, large and small, as well as several nearby hills.

Ye Qiu is not short of money; when he decides to do something, he does it best.

Besides a uniquely designed resort hotel that has become a local landmark, Ye Qiu has also built many exquisite sea cabins and maritime amusement parks.

Behind the beach's low hills, aside from setting aside a large equestrian area, he also constructed two golf courses and a shooting range.

On the far right of the beach, Ye Qiu Company is applying to build an oceanarium that leads directly under the sea, with the aim of turning this beach into a maritime paradise that captures the attention of the whole world.

The large beach is free of charge, fees are only required when one wants to experience the recreational facilities.

Although most of the country's many citizens cannot afford entertainment today, being summer vacation, there aren't a few who bring their kids out for fun.

Ye Qiu is not worried about the revenue of the oceanic playground; though there are few who are willing to spend on travel now, the sheer population of the country still sustains basic operations.

But as time goes on, with the country becoming more and more developed, Ye Qiu believes that this place will turn into a small treasury for his daughter.

Indeed, when Ye Qiu established this marine paradise, the holder was his daughter, who was only 8 years old.

Watching Manman playing with sand, Ye Qiu's heart softened; after all his exhaustions and efforts weren't they all for this little one!

"How on earth did you come up with all this?" While instructing the staff to watch over the two children, Chen Wen and her husband strolled on the beach, surveying everything around them, astonished.

"And there's more you wouldn't guess." Ye Qiu smiled lightly: "I have purchased several islands in the Pacific, planning to turn the connected islets into the world's largest island resort, the furthest one to be our own private holiday island."

"Where did you get so much money." Upon hearing this, Chen Wen stopped in her tracks, her tone somewhat anxious, afraid her husband might engage in illegal activities for quick money.

"Don't worry." Ye Qiu holding his wife's shoulder: "The profits from real estate are higher than you think, and the islands are just bought; it will take some time to develop them into resorts, so there's no need to worry about money for now."

"That's good to hear, just don't do anything foolish. Our life has just gotten better in recent years, I really don't want anything bad happening to you." Leaning on her husband, Chen Wen felt relieved.

"How could I bear to leave you all." Ye Qiu laughed lightly, gently kissing his wife's forehead.

The two children played all afternoon and had a seafood feast prepared by the hotel chef for dinner. Unable to resist their daughter Manman's earnest request, the family stayed the night in a wooden sea cabin.

The wood used for building the cabin is professionally treated anti-corrosive wood; the cabin has two stories, with the living quarters on the second floor which wouldn't flood even at high tide, except during a typhoon. Sitting on the cabin's deck, one can dip their feet into the sea.

Each cabin is also connected by a small bridge, which can be used to directly access the maritime amusement park.

The cabin has two rooms, and Ye Qiu would rather not stay with his wife than let his daughter stay with Ling Heng, the little ghost, in one room, resulting in men in one room and women in another.

Listening to the waves, feeling the sea breeze, and thinking about his wife and daughter in the neighboring room, Ye Qiu gradually fell into sleep.
