Chapter 144 - True Gundam Warriors: The Second Battlefield in the Cockpit

Fabuti regretted it. When the Gundam appeared, he was already prepared to kneel and beg for mercy.

However, Su Ye and the Wall Guardians did not give him that chance.

Opportunities are fleeting. If you can't seize them, they're gone for good—life is that unpredictable.

All of Jotunheim, after enduring Loki's long-range Eternal Spear and Rainbow Bridge attack, once again faced an unbearable horror.

Dozens of Iron Armors danced in the air, evading the Frost Giants' attacks through teamwork, while their various long-range thermal weapons unleashed firepower recklessly.

In a matter of moments, a rain of weapons showered the ice plain, obliterating everything standing on the surface.

When Su Ye's Gundam joined the fray, the situation worsened dramatically.

The micro-missiles on the Iron Armors could flip a heavy tank with one shot, but the medium missiles carried by the Gundam could easily send a thousand-ton missile frigate flying.

Moreover, the Ark Reactor on its chest was larger and more powerful than that of the Iron Armors, capable of unleashing the firepower of a Quinjet cannon with a casual strike.

Thus, when Sif, sitting on Su Ye's lap, kept shouting for him to fire, all of Jotunheim felt like it was facing the apocalypse.

The ice plains were shattered, glaciers began to collapse, and snow-capped mountains crumbled. The entire frozen land trembled and quaked as countless wide and deep fissures appeared in the thick ice, swallowing the Frost Giants whole, leaving no trace behind.

This turmoil naturally disturbed the Frost Behemoths, which had been in deep slumber.

According to Fabuti's knowledge, there weren't many Frost Behemoths in Jotunheim—about seven or eight. Due to scarce food and harsh conditions, most of them remained in hibernation.

However, Fabuti soon realized how gravely mistaken he was.

As the Wall Guardians became more active, the frozen ground began to collapse, and the number of Frost Behemoths emerging from below quickly exceeded double digits—and it kept rising.

These colossal creatures, which typically hibernated for hundreds or even thousands of years to conserve energy, woke up in a foul mood, unleashing unimaginable destructive power.

Many of the fleeing Frost Giants became their prey.

Then, these behemoths turned their gaze to the distant sky.

There, the Iron Armors danced in the air, while the towering Gundam unleashed its firepower across the battlefield.

Frost Behemoths were not mindless beasts; they quickly realized that these intruders were the culprits who had disturbed their slumber.

"Damn you!"

The Frost Behemoths roared in unison, then turned and charged furiously towards the Wall Guardians.

Despite their massive size and weight, these Frost Behemoths were terrifyingly agile, sprinting across the collapsing ice plains as if on solid ground.

From a distance, the Wall Guardians spotted the charging Frost Behemoths, and the cannon beneath the Quinjet instantly opened fire.

A single well-aimed shot sent the leading Frost Behemoth flying, killing it on the spot.

However, the remaining Frost Behemoths became wary and started dodging from a distance, causing the Quinjet's subsequent shots to miss entirely, failing to injure them in the slightest.

Seeing this, Fabuti suddenly felt a glimmer of hope. With the Frost Behemoths' help, the Frost Giants might expel the invaders, reclaim sovereignty over Jotunheim, and perhaps even march out into the Nine Realms, into the universe.

Then, Su Ye's Gundam made its move again.

This time, he didn't rely on long-range bombardment. Instead, he drew several metal rods from his back, which connected to form an enormous spear—nearly 30 meters long with a 50-centimeter diameter.

The spearhead was even larger than the Anti-Hulk Armor's, with a sharp tip that gleamed with a cold, piercing light.

To enhance his weapon's melee capabilities, Su Ye had secretly learned swordsmanship from Sif and others, and even studied spear techniques in Chinatown.

Men, after all, have a special fondness for spears.

Seeing the spear, an inexplicable chill ran through Fabuti's heart, and he couldn't help but worry about the dozens of newly emerged Frost Behemoths.

Could they withstand such a weapon?

Sif shared the same doubt but had no time to voice it.

Inside the cockpit, Sif's initial excitement had waned. She could now calmly observe the battlefield and focus on feeling the control stick.

Strapped securely by the seatbelt, she couldn't move away from the control stick even if she wanted to. Without her armor in the way, her sharp combat instincts allowed her to clearly feel the textures at the stick's tip.

As everyone knows, whether manual or automatic, control sticks typically have bulbous tips for easier handling and shifting, some even shaped like mushrooms.

The design aims to prevent losing grip and accidental slips.

Once seated with such a control stick, fabric provided minimal cushioning.

Even ordinary people like classmates, teachers, or neighborly ladies could easily feel it, let alone a perceptive warrior like Sif.

So, during the first half, Sif could only distract herself by shouting and urging attacks.

However, as the battle progressed, the positions of the passengers in the cockpit adjusted accordingly.

Both of them moved with the Gundam's actions, adapting to the most optimal postures and positions, coordinating seamlessly.

As a side note, Asgard's material civilization isn't as primitive as it appears. Their warriors' armor and inner linings are specially crafted by master artisans to maintain peak combat readiness.

For instance, their armor, though appearing leather-like, is inscribed with magical runes and reinforced with special metals like Uru powder, making it both lightweight and exceptionally durable.

The armor's inner lining is designed to facilitate complex tactical movements, ensuring breathability and durability while being magically softened for enhanced elasticity and flexibility.

In other words, if they fall into water, the inner lining can inflate like a balloon using its built-in magical array.

Its performance and texture are similar to that of a balloon.

If necessary, it can serve as a literal balloon.

After removing her armor, Sif was left wearing only this highly functional magical inner lining.

Once her position was adjusted, she noticed that the control stick seemingly shifted gears on its own and inexplicably started moving.

...

Su Ye paid little attention to what was happening in the cockpit. As a warrior, his priority was dealing with the Frost Behemoths ahead.

The dozens of Frost Behemoths wreaked havoc, posing a potentially devastating threat to the Wall Guardians, leaving no room for error.

Thus, any other issues were secondary, and occasional misoperations were to be expected.

With the over-30-meter-long spear in hand, Su Ye's Gundam exuded the aura of a battlefield general. Unfortunately, though Su Ye had the spirit, his Gundam lacked a warhorse beneath it, slightly diminishing the imposing vibe.

Without a steed beneath him, the Gundam could improvise—its opponents, the Frost Behemoths, were just the right size.

As the Frost Behemoths charged in, Su Ye's Gundam swung its spear and launched a counter-charge directly at the herd.

The Gundam sprinted across the ice plain, each step kicking up clouds of ice shards and snow, which scattered outward in massive gusts, resembling blooming snow lotuses on the frozen tundra.

Amidst this blossoming path, the Gundam quickly clashed with the densely packed Frost Behemoths.

At the last moment before collision, the Gundam's spear lightly tapped the ground, vaulting its massive frame into the air. It twisted mid-flight and came crashing down into the thick of the beast horde.

The Frost Behemoth at the landing point was pinned under the Gundam's feet, its head crushed into the frozen earth. It howled in pain, unable to move.

The Gundam didn't pause. It swung its spear in a wide arc, sending nearby charging Frost Behemoths flying.

With a swift movement, the Gundam charged at a larger Frost Behemoth nearby. A glint of cold light flashed as the spear thrust forward like a dragon, shattering the creature's skull with one strike.

Blood and brain matter splattered across the sky.

Yet, rather than scaring them off, the sight only enraged the Frost Behemoths further.

One Frost Behemoth took the opportunity to lunge from the side, biting down on the Gundam's spear, preventing it from retrieving the weapon, while others launched another wave of attacks.

"Too naive!"

Su Ye smirked. With a quick maneuver, the Gundam shook violently once again, prompting a scream from Sif.

The Gundam's hands pressed firmly, causing the 30-meter-long spear to bend slightly in the opposite direction. Though the arc was minor, it provided a tremendous counterforce.

Using this force, the Gundam leaped backward, its body twisting horizontally, launching its legs like cannonballs to kick a charging Frost Behemoth away.

The Gundam then planted its feet on the neck of the behemoth biting the spear. With a forceful tug, it wrenched the bloodied, tooth-studded spearhead free from its maw.

That Frost Behemoth, now with a mouth full of snow and blood, turned tail and fled.

With one beast fleeing, the remaining Frost Behemoths showed no signs of retreat. Instead, they charged again with renewed fervor.

The Gundam's spear spun like a fiery wheel, its tip crackling with arcs of white light from the enhanced Ark Reactor. As it swung, the spear danced through the crowd of Frost Behemoths, leaving streaks of electric light in its wake.

With the electrified spear in hand, the Gundam charged proactively, tearing through the Frost Behemoths like a tiger among wolves. None could stand against it.

Though the Frost Behemoths seemed numerous, there were only a few dozen. Whether because others were too far or their numbers were truly limited, no reinforcements arrived despite the prolonged battle.

To Su Ye, these mere dozens of Frost Behemoths, relying solely on instinct and brute force, were nothing more than cannon fodder, no matter their numbers.

Under his control, the Gundam's victory over them was only a matter of time.

Throughout the battle, Su Ye didn't even need to resort to thermal weapons; the spear alone was enough to bring them all down.

While Su Ye was thoroughly enjoying himself, Sif found it hard to stay seated.

She truly couldn't stay still. Despite the seatbelt and Su Ye's steady grip, which kept her secure even in the jolting Gundam, the constant motion left her both firmly seated and uncomfortably shaken.

However, since Su Ye was focused on controlling the Gundam and fighting, his handling of Sif was a bit rough.

For Sif, an Asgardian warrior with over a millennium of experience yet unacquainted with such situations, it was overwhelming.

She began to regret her decision to volunteer as a guide for the Wall Guardians.

Initially, Sif had worried that without a trusted guide, the Wall Guardians might slack off or secretly negotiate deals with the Frost Giants, jeopardizing Asgard's interests.

Such matters shouldn't have concerned a woman, but Thor seemed to have been utterly charmed by these people. His complete lack of concern made Sif all the more vigilant.

After all, her initial impression of Su Ye—who nearly drove his sword down her throat—was far from favorable. No amount of suspicion felt excessive.

Now, the facts proved she was wrong—terribly wrong.

This man wasn't just skilled with a sword—his mastery of the spear was even greater. Look at those dozens of Frost Behemoths; despite their numbers, they couldn't even get close under his Gundam and spear's relentless assault.

These were creatures that could send even Asgard's finest warriors running for their lives.

Most importantly, she should never have boarded the Gundam, let alone ended up sitting on the control stick. Now, she couldn't even form a coherent sentence.

Though her body felt strangely pleasant, her mind kept screaming, "Stop!"

Behind her, Su Ye's movements gradually slowed. After his efforts, the dozens of Frost Behemoths—aside from a few that had fled—now lay injured and groaning on the ground.

Except for the first strike, where the Gundam obliterated a Frost Behemoth's skull to assert dominance, Su Ye had merely injured the rest, sparing their lives.

After all, it wasn't easy for these creatures to grow so large, and they were rare, endangered species. Wiping them out wouldn't set a good example for future generations.

Future children hearing of their ancestors' heroic deeds would lose something without living examples of the giant alien beasts their predecessors once vanquished.

So, leaving them alive was better. Whether as pets or sparring partners for future generations, they would serve a valuable purpose.

After bringing down all the Frost Behemoths, Su Ye, wielding his spear, piloted the Gundam and roared skyward, "Who else dares?!"

His voice, amplified through psychic resonance, echoed in the minds of the Frost Behemoths, clearly conveying his intent.

"You… you are strong. We yield!"

The Frost Behemoths, highly intelligent and on par with Earth's orcas, could communicate through psychic resonance and fully grasp Su Ye's message.

Unlike the scheming Frost Giants, the Frost Behemoths were straightforward. If someone was stronger, they were the boss, and they surrendered without hesitation.

Nor did they harbor resentment over their fallen kin; their respect for strength overrode such sentiments.

Beasts adhere to the principle of survival of the fittest: the strong dominate, and the weak perish. If they lose and are defeated, it's just the natural order. Once they submit, they are unlikely to betray.

At this moment, Fabuti risked his life, running frantically while waving a white loincloth in the air.

"We surrender! We surrender!"

With the Frost Behemoths subdued, what choice did they have? If they didn't surrender now, were they waiting for total annihilation?
