Shin walked back into the estate with a tired, pale face. He looked at the vineyard with the people working, the maids rushing behind the house's windows, and the pigeons resting on the roof. His eyes shifted back toward the large door, and there Qiwu stood, a gentle smile on her face.
Qiwu gently bowed, her eyes closed and her short hair swaying with her movement. "Master. Welcome back."
Behind Qiwu one of the maids stopped, almost falling to the ground. She looked behind her shoulders and saw Shin's dishevelled clothes and face. He looked like he rolled down a hill and into a thorny bush, which happened to her once or twice when she was a kid.
"By the nines!" The maid in the back cried and then yelled into the house, "Samala! Get your ass over here." Her voice boomed and the sound of hurried footsteps quickly followed.
Samala arrived and her face paled when she saw Shin. "By the… get him into the bath, none of the wounds look too severe."
