Rivana looked up at him, thinking he would be shocked or, worse, paint her as a criminal without knowing the whole story. That's what everyone did that night, blaming her for taking an innocent's life over a simple mistake.
Instead, all she saw was a blank stare. It seemed more like he didn't care if she was a murderer or not if she had killed someone or thrown someone off a building. Did he trust her that much? Or did they already investigate it and believe she was innocent without the need for her to prove it?
Azrael caressed her hand and answered her unspoken questions, "Callum dug into it and found a few things." He pulled her closer, holding her close to his chest.
