Chapter 521 - Chapter 521: Letting the Hu Zi Return to the Mountain

  The door slowly opened.

A tall man in black walked out.

  "Uncle, is he about to..."

Lin Shishi hid behind the man, looking at Lu Fei in the living room with fear.

Lu Fei's face was red, his neck tightly gripped by a hideous middle-aged woman. His hands hung down, as if he had already lost the ability to resist.

Hu Zi lay on the ground, motionless.

The black dog was nowhere to be seen.

  "Uncle, please save him..."

Lin Shishi was both anxious and afraid.

  "Alright, I'll go save him."

The man in black slowly walked into the living room, looking at Lu Fei who seemed to be unconscious. A cold smile curled at the corner of his mouth as he stretched his hands towards Lu Fei.

It appeared as though he was going to help him.

However, a sharp knife slipped out from his sleeve, moving towards Lu Fei's neck.

  But unexpectedly.

Just as the knife was about to touch Lu Fei, his eyes suddenly opened.

There was not a hint of pain in his eyes; instead, they were bright and icy.

The man in black was startled, but instead of retracting the knife, he sped up and thrust it at Lu Fei.

  However.

A pair of powerful hands suddenly grabbed his arm and then twisted it fiercely.

  Crack!

The sound of bone breaking echoed clearly in the dim living room.

  "Ah!"

The man in black let out a muffled cry of pain, then swept his leg fiercely at the other. Taking advantage of the other's evasive move, he retreated several steps to put some distance between them.

"Hmph, to think you could scheme against my boss, you're still far too green!"

Hu Zi tightened his fists until they creaked, his face full of scorn.

Lu Fei raised his hand and easily pushed the middle-aged woman away, then placed a ghost-repelling talisman on her forehead, subduing her effortlessly.

There was not the slightest sign of being possessed by an evil spirit.

  "Manager Lu... Mom..."

Lin Shishi was dumbfounded, completely at a loss for what was happening.

  "Are you faking it?!"

The man in black widened his eyes, staring at Lu Fei in shock.

Lu Fei was also sizing up the other man.

He had assumed that the King of Hell's Notice was the work of Xuan Yinzi, but it turned out to be someone he had never seen before!

  "Who are you?"

"When you're dead, the King of Hell will tell you!"

The man in black took two deep breaths, enduring the intense pain from his broken right wrist. With a flick of his left hand, a thin red rope, like a wire, shot towards Lu Fei.

At the end of the red rope, a hideous skull face suddenly appeared, opening its blood-filled mouth to bite at Lu Fei's head.

It was as terrifying as a Blood Dripper.

  "Boss, be careful!"

Huzi quickly drew his knife and forcefully slashed at the ghostly face.

The man in black flicked his wrist, the red rope swung, and the ghostly face nimbly dodged the knife, reaching for Lu Fei from below the blade, sinister and treacherous.

Lu Fei was already ready with his ghost-busting whip.

  Snap!

He lashed out with a single stroke of the whip.

The gruesome ghostly face instantly split into two halves.

The man in black was taken aback. With another surge of strength, two skeletal ghost faces appeared, like a two-headed snake, one on each side, biting towards Lu Fei.

  "What the hell is that?"

Huzi was startled. This move was incredibly bizarre. Gritting his teeth, he used the blade to wrap around the red rope and charged at the man in black with the skeletal ghost faces.

But to his surprise, the ghostly face could elongate, wrapping around Lu Fei from both sides.

Lu Fei did not dodge or evade.

In his hand, the ghost-whipping whip had already switched to a lightning-striking wood.

  He channeled his magical power.

Just as the ghostly face was about to bite him, the might of thunder and lightning erupted with a roar.

Under the blinding electric light, the ghostly face shattered inch by inch.

"You didn't even open the King Yan's Notice!" The man in black was utterly shocked, only now realizing what had happened.

"Now you know, your reaction is too slow!"

As black ashes drifted, Lu Fei, holding the jujube wood staff, strode quickly toward the man in black. His young and stern face wore a half-smile that was not quite a smile.

The man's expression turned extremely ugly.

He exerted force with his hand, trying to retract the red rope, but the rope was already under Hu Zi's control.

Hu Zi gave a fierce tug.

The man in black staggered a few steps instantly.

In a panic, he hurled the red rope at Hu Zi.

On the rope, grotesque skulls sprouted like fruit.

  "Shit!"

Hu Zi, frightened, quickly flung the red rope away.

"Hu Zi, get out of the way!"

Lu Fei rushed forward and flicked the jujube wood stick.

Electric light shot out, and in a moment, the skulls on the red rope were completely cleared away.

And the man in black had taken the opportunity to run towards the outside of the house.

Outside the door, Linsi stood like a wooden chicken, stunned.

The bizarre and fantastical scenes inside the house had surpassed her cognitive limits, leaving her mind blank at this moment.

"Weren't you supposed to thank me? Now is the time!"

The man in black's eyes turned fierce, and he reached out to grab Linsi with his large hand.

  "No..."

Linsi was directly frightened into fainting.

  Woof!

At that moment, a small black dog suddenly darted out from behind Linsi and pounced straight for the face of the man in black.

  "Ah! Get away!"

The man in black couldn't dodge in time and had his nose bitten off by the black dog, letting out a shrill scream.

He desperately swung his fists, trying to drive the black dog away, but in the chaos, he lost his balance and tumbled down the stairs with a series of thuds.

Ignoring the intense pain all over his body, he got up and started running.

  "Boss, he's trying to escape!"

Huzi picked up his knife and chased after him.

"Huzi, slow down!" Lu Fei reached out and held Huzi's shoulder.

"Why? If we let him get away..."

"If we don't let him run, how can we find the mastermind behind this?"

  Lu Fei smiled.

The man in black wasn't very skilled, and didn't seem like someone capable of issuing a King Yama's Warrant.

He guessed that the man in black was also working for someone else.

"What, the mastermind behind it!" Hu Zi was taken aback and then realized, "Damn! This is like an old sow wearing a bra, one trick after another!"

"You and Xiao Hei go ahead first, don't follow too closely, understand?"

  "Understood!"

Hu Zi gestured to Xiao Hei, and the two of them, one man and one dog, went downstairs to follow the man in black.

Lu Fei, after making sure the unconscious Lin Shishi was settled, quickly followed Hu Zi.

With Xiao Hei leading the way.

The two of them followed the man in black from a distance, watching him enter an abandoned half-finished building, and he did not come out again.

This half-finished building was not far from Lin Shishi's home.

Lu Fei estimated that the real mastermind was inside.

"Hu Zi, you stay outside and keep watch. I'll go in and take a look."

  "Alright! Boss, be careful!"

Hu Zi gripped his knife and nodded forcefully.

Lu Fei and Xiao Hei, under the cover of night, tiptoed into the abandoned building.

The howling wind echoed through the empty and eerie half-finished structure.

Xiao Hei followed the scent, moving up the unguarded concrete stairs all the way to the top floor.

  The wind was fierce.

Low voices could be heard from outside.

Lu Fei and Xiao Hei stopped in time, hiding behind the rough concrete wall and carefully observing the outside.

Under the dim night sky of the city.

The man in black stood at the edge of the rooftop, his bloodstained hand covering his nose, trembling as he spoke to someone.

Across from him stood an elderly man in a black robe.

The elder had his hands tucked into his sleeves, and his black robe fluttered in the night wind, with his back to Lu Fei's direction.

Although he made no move, a chilling aura emanated from his entire being.

  "It's really him!"

Even though he couldn't see the other person's face, Lu Fei recognized him at once by his attire.
