Chapter 308 - Chapter 308: The Red-Clothed Fierce Ghost

  "You... are bad people!"

The skirt moved strangely, blood seeping out. The woman glared at the two of them angrily, a gurgling sound coming from her throat, as if some terrible change was about to happen.

"This is bad! Angering a fierce ghost, we may not be able to escape for a while!" Jia Banxian felt his scalp tingle with fear.

No matter how they answered, the outcome would likely be the same.

  "Give me back my child!"

A cold wind swept through, and the woman, carrying a sharp and deadly aura, charged towards the two of them.

A strong stench hit him in the face.

Fortunately, Lu Fei was already prepared.

With his magical power already infused, he didn't dodge but met the attack head-on with the thunderwood.

  Boom!

Blue arcs of electricity flickered over the red dress.

The woman let out a shrill scream, her body writhing as the red dress split, escaping the attack of the thunderwood and floating back a distance.

The tattered red dress spread out around her, making her look like a bizarre jellyfish suspended in midair, glaring at Lu Fei with vengeful eyes.

Lu Fei also looked at her, the lightning on the thunderwood in his hand flickering.

The power of the thunder erupted.

A hint of apprehension flashed through the woman's dark eyes, as if she were hesitating.

"We are not bad people, we haven't seen your child! If you don't provoke us, we won't provoke you!"

Lu Fei, holding the thunderstruck jujube wood stick, shouted loudly at the woman. Seeing that she did not move, he gave a wink to Jia Banxian.

  Jia Banxian understood.

The two of them, along with the little black dog, cautiously retreated.

The woman did not chase after them; she floated in mid-air, staring at them with a chilling gaze.

Thunderstruck wood is the bane of all evil spirits, even fierce ghosts have to be wary of it. After this encounter, the woman knew that they were not to be trifled with.

As long as they didn't further provoke her, they could leave the park safely.

  "Mommy!"

But at that moment, a clear voice of a child suddenly sounded beside them.

"Where did that sound come from?"

  The two were instantly shocked.

Looking around, they found that the plastic doll had somehow climbed onto the birdcage in Master Jia's hand. Its stiff face seemed to be wearing a smile filled with malice.

  "Damn little brat!"

Master Jia was both angry and resentful. This little thing was simply haunting them!

The black puppy lunged at the doll, trying to bite it, but the doll reacted extremely quickly, springing away from the birdcage and rolling far away.

The black puppy barked furiously and chased after it.

At this moment, Lu Fei had no time to deal with the doll. He held the lightning-struck wood, staring tensely at the red-dressed ghost.

Blood dripped down her skirt. At the sound of 'mother,' it was as if a switch in her body had been flipped, and a powerful and dangerous aura surged out.

Before, she was merely repeating her obsession. Now, she began to show the truly dangerous side of the red-dressed ghost.

  "Give me back my child!"

The female ghost stretched out her blood-stained hand and made a grab at Jia Banxian in mid-air.

The birdcage then flew towards her.

"Help! Help!" The little parrot inside, terrified by the eerie aura, started screaming in panic.

Fortunately, Jia Banxian held the cage tightly, preventing it from flying directly into the ghost's hands, but his body was dragged towards the woman.

  "Banxian!"

Lu Fei threw a ghost-repelling talisman at the female ghost, slightly hindering her power, and then quickly opened the birdcage, snatched the little parrot out, and stuffed it into his pocket.

Then, holding the birdcage, he rushed to the well and threw the cage into the well right in front of the woman.

"Your child is in there, go find him!"

"Child! My child!" The female ghost was alarmed and hurriedly dashed toward the dark well.

"Banxian, Xiao Hei, let's go, quick!"

Regardless of what would happen between her and the well spirit, Lu Fei called out to the small black dog and dragged Jia Banxian away.

A shrill scream echoed from behind.

Without looking back, the two ran all the way to the front gate, only to realize that the little black dog had not followed them.

"Oh no, it must have been caught by that little ghost..." Jia Banxian broke into a sweat in anxiety.

"Banxian, you go ahead, I'll go find it!"

Lu Fei stuffed the small parrot into Jia Banxian's hands and was about to go back for her little dog when she saw a small, pudgy figure running towards them.

  "Little Black!"

Lu Fei hurried over and, upon seeing that the small black dog was unharmed, felt relieved.

The small black dog held a plastic doll in its mouth, wagging its tail proudly.

The doll had been running very fast originally, but it suddenly fell to the ground when the scream came from the well. The little black dog naturally did not let the opportunity slip and carried it back.

  "Well done!"

Lu Fei rubbed its fluffy little head and pulled the plastic doll out of its mouth.

The body of the doll had been bitten, looking a pitiful sight.

However, Lu Fei did not find any trace of the little ghost's spirit on it; he only saw some black smoke.

  "It's malevolence!"

  Lu Fei immediately understood.

The doll was a means for the well demon to attract people.

The well demon, unable to leave the well itself, used the plastic doll to lure people closer.

  But...

Lu Fei seemed to be deep in thought.

"Ordinary people, when they see such a bizarre doll, would usually stay away. Why would anyone approach it... Who is the doll most attractive to?"

  He was suddenly startled.

  "Children!"

"Could it be that all the missing children are in the well?"

Jia Banxian, upon hearing this, was also greatly alarmed, "That makes sense, you Lu family kid! So those children were harmed by the well demon. This is probably not about finding a substitute! It's sucking the lifeforce of children!"

"Once it has sucked enough, it can become a demon and break the seal. This malevolent spirit cannot be left alive, kid from the Lu family!"

"Become a demon?!" Lu Fei was also terrified at the thought.

He never expected to stumble upon such a powerful malevolent spirit by chance.

"However, there's still a problem! If the children all died in the well, even if their lifeforce was sucked by the well demon, their bones should still be there."

"Why couldn't the police and the parents find them? Checking the well shouldn't be that difficult, right?"

"There must be more to this! I'm afraid we need to go down the well to figure it out," said Jia Banxian, stroking his beard.

Lu Fei thought for a moment and said, "That red-clothed fierce ghost is lingering around the well. Let's let them fight among themselves tonight. We should first find the original owner of the parrot, and then deal with the well-evil spirit when it's dawn tomorrow."

  "You're right!" Jia Banxian nodded.

Lu Fei placed a ghost-repelling talisman on the doll and put it away.

The two left the park and headed southwest.

After passing through the abandoned half-built buildings, they saw rows of low, old houses before them.

This was the oldest part of Jiangcheng.

It was supposed to be demolished to make way for new buildings, but for some reason, the construction never took place.

Now, there were hardly any people living here anymore.

The area was desolate and cold, and in comparison to the tall skyscrapers in the distance, it seemed even more deserted.

"Southwest, not more than a hundred meters."

Jia Banxian walked while measuring the distance, and finally stopped outside an old house.

The house was pitch black, an old-style apartment building, with not a single light on, making it unknown if anyone still lived there.

"According to the divination, it's right here."

Jia Banxian held the small parrot in both hands, moving closer to the house.

However, after a night of turmoil, the small parrot was not in good spirits, its head drooping, listless and unresponsive.

"Let's go in and take a look."

As Lu Fei was about to enter.

he heard a creak from inside the building, and a door opened.
