"Dad, do you know the one thing that's sure? It's that my life has always been trouble, you guys control everything I do, then the same nightmare of me getting killed over and over again, what more could possibly go wrong ? A boyfriend with tattoos?
Rocco noded with a slight smile as Pippa shot him a glare
"Are you having fun?"she questioned, annoyed
Rocco faced her parents.
"We aren't here for your blessings, we only have one question and then we'll leave ".
"I'm not answering any damn questions ,son"
Rocco scoffed
"Son? You can't be my father"
"Right, and I'm glad I'm not, now cut the crap and leave my house"
Rocco looked at Pippa.
"Dad just listen to him"
"This is a life and death situation, your daughter's life depends on it"
"Rocco, what are you doing?"Pippa questioned.
"Having my way" Rocco replied calmly
" What is it you want to ask?" Pippa's mom asked cutting in
"Has any strange or unfamiliar person ask about Pippa?"
"You mean like the paparazzi, the press?"
"No, someone who made you feel uneasy, someone persistently asking about her,a woman "
"Oh, Peter's mom" Pippa's dad said
"The French witch "Pippa and Peter said in unison
"French witch?" Rocco asked
"Yeah" Pippa said "She's French and have a strong accent, and even though she looks young,she gives up this ancient vibe, like a thousand years old.plus she has this weird mirror, so I gave her the name the 'French witch' isn't it cool?" Pippa asked
" I need to meet her" Rocco said immediately
"You can't " Peter cutted in
"Why not?" Pippa asked
"Cause I won't let him" Peter said flatly.
Rocco smirked. "And how will you stop me little boy?by barking and biting? cause that's what dogs do"Rocco said
"He's my favorite, don't insult him"Pippa's sister snappy.
Pippa noticed Peter's clenched fist and angry expression. She glanced at Rocco,cool as ever, completely unbothered .
"Why don't we talk ....., fist to fist" Peter asked as Pippa choked on her saliva.
"Are you crazy?!!"Pippa yelled at the both of them
"And the winner gets Pippa" Peter added
"I'm not betting on her" Rocco said, voice sharp.
"Why? In case you lose?" Peter taunted

Pippa sat down, legs shaking and realized it wasn't just her legs that was shaking,Rocco and Peter had gone off for their little match after swearing there will be no death.
Soon enough Rocco returned, bloodstained but clearly not wounded.
"What about Peter?"Pippa asked, wide-eyed.
"He needs to visit the hospital, let's go visit his mom"
"Yeah....sure"Pippa hurried after him. "You sure you didn't kill him?"
"I didn't look back when leaving, he's probably not dead"
"You've got to be kidding me"
"He's a dog. it doesn't matter"
"A dog? really Rocco?"
"Just like werewolves, other animals shapeshift too. The French witch isn't his mom.She's his master" Rocco said knocking on Peter's door
"What's the point of knocking when you can just break in?" Pippa asked
"I've got manners"
"By the way, how did you know Peter was a dog?"
Rocco shot her a glare
"Just curious " she shrugged
"He had an excessive dog smell"
"I know the passcode "Pippa smugly.
Pippa entered the code, then the door opened.
"You're welcome" she added
Miss Rosa approach them with a smile.
"Miss Rosa"Pippa greeted her
"So, what do I owe visit?"she asked with a smile
"Let's leave" Rocco said to pippa
"Her smile is scary right? gosh even the almighty Rocco is scared"
"I didn't expect to see you both together Dario"miss Rosa said still smiling
"She knows you? You guys know each other?"
"No"Rocco answered
"We go way back" miss Rosa countered
Pippa noded slowly "Actually we are here to talk"Pippa said
"After what he did to Peter, walking in here is basically a death sentence"
"You shouldn't have gotten a dog protect you"Rocco replied coldly.
"That's rude, aren't you pleased to see me?"
"You guys seem to know each other really well" Pippa said with an awkward chuckle
"We were..., friends I guess " said miss Rosa
"We weren't " Rocco snapped
Pippa rolled her eyes."So should I just leave or....?"
Miss Rosa sighed"You can stay, Rocco is holding back cause you're here"
"Holding back what?"
"Nothing you need to know "she replied with a sweet unsettling smile.
"Where is she?" Rocco asked suddenly.
"I don't know, Dario, I've lived in hiding for centuries, using other creatures to protect myself. I haven't heard from her for five hundred years"
Five hundred years!!?" Pippa eyes widened
"Why are you both together by the way" miss Rosa asked curiously.
Rocco scoffed . "Stop faking and stop watching me with your mirror"
She grinned. "You're still a wizard I thought you'd lost your sixth sense"
"I'm not a wizard"
"We should speak in private, I can give you details about the woman you are looking for"miss Rosa said
Rocco turned to Pippa
"Don't tell me you're accepting her invitation"
"Wait here, we'll be right back" he said and walked upstairs with Rosa
Pippa blinked,stunned " She's not a real witch right?.....right?"
"Wait here" Rocco repeated before disappearing upstairs.
Pippa sat down, arms folded and fuming . "You should've at least pretended to have some dignity and denied her, how can you leave me for an old witch?"
She groaned, leaning back against the coach. The room was eerie and quiet, and the longer Rocco stayed upstairs, the more her unease grew.
Then a loud crash echoed from above.
Pippa jumped to her feet.
"Rocco?" She called out , but there was no answer.
A second crash followed,this time louder, like something heavy hitting the floor.
Then..... silence.
Pippa took a step toward the stairs,heart racing.
Just then, the door creaked open. Rocco walked past her without saying a word, his jaw clenched, eyes burning with something close to rage.
Pippa blinked. "Seriously? Not even a word?"
She scoffed and followed him out, her steps quickening to match his.
But the silence between them was heavy—too heavy.
She glanced at him. "What did she say to you?"
Still, no answer.
That's when she noticed it—his hands were shaking.
Not from fear.
From fury.
And Pippa realizes, whatever Rosa had said up there, it's shaken him more than she's ever seen
