A group of people moved silently forward, the world behind them slowly disappearing. Except for Chen Ke, no one knew there was a god-like entity beside them.
Two hours later, although it was already morning, the sky grew darker and darker.
It was a very peculiar phenomenon; the sky was pitch black, but the surroundings were somehow illuminated by an unknown source of light, as if the last glimmer of twilight lingered.
For some reason, in the final leg of their journey, even the ubiquitous bird people were nowhere to be seen, and the whole world seemed as if it had been deprived of all vitality, deathly still.
No chirping of insects or birds could be heard, no caress of the wind or the brilliance of the sun and moon felt. Chen Ke began to wonder if they were the only living beings in this place.
Upon arriving in the town, the group decided to take a brief rest. Fortunately, in one of the town's residential homes, they found food that had just been laid out on the table.
