"Can I kiss you?"
Mirabella's eyes fluttered, a soft breath escaping through her slightly parted lips. Her gaze began to cloud with heat as she stared at Eros.
Did he just ask that…?
She almost doubted her ears were working properly, but when he asked again, lower and clearer, she knew she hadn't imagined it. Her lips pressed into a thin line, and her eyes darted away from his.
"I never thought of you as such a gentleman," she muttered softly.
Eros chuckled, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. "I'm not," he agreed easily.
After all, he had already tasted those lips once without permission but let her remain unaware. Stolen fruit always tastes sweeter.
"You can…"
The words were barely above a whisper, but Eros heard them with perfect clarity. He smiled, then gently pulled her up, her body sliding over his until her face hovered inches from his own.
Mirabella's lips quivered in anticipation as Eros leaned in.
