Chapter 224 - Chapter 224: Crafting to Earn Money, The Di Yan Auction

Chapter 224: Crafting to Earn Money, The Di Yan Auction

The caravan sped down from the mountaintop, and within minutes, they approached the crimson city gates. Their pace slowed as they joined the line of people waiting to enter the city.

"Mr. Mo Yu, where do you plan to go next?" Ge Duo asked with a smile after paying the entrance fee and bringing the caravan to a stop inside the city.

"I'll take a look around the city first. By the way, where in Di Yan City can I find the most crafting materials?" Mo Yu asked as he jumped off the carriage.

"Crafting materials? The best place would be the Di Yan Sect, but their materials aren't for sale. You can try the Bai Lian Pavilion," Ge Duo suggested with a smile.

"Thank you. I'll take a look there. We'll part ways here for now. Perhaps we'll meet again," Mo Yu nodded slightly at Ge Duo, then turned and quickly disappeared into the crowd before Ge Duo could respond with any polite farewells.

As Mo Yu walked slowly along the street, his eyes scanned the shops on either side. In the short distance of less than a hundred meters, he witnessed several brawls and even a knife fight. It was clear that those who survived in the Black-Corner Region were ruthless individuals.

Avoiding the street fights, Mo Yu turned down a couple of side streets. After walking for about twenty minutes, his gaze finally settled on a large shop with a sign that read "Bai Lian Pavilion" in bold, ancient characters on a red plaque.

"This should be the place," he muttered to himself as he quickened his pace and entered the imposing workshop.

Inside Bai Lian Pavilion, the area was vast, with well-organized counters displaying various crafting materials. Many people were browsing the counters, engaged in noisy conversations.

Mo Yu slowly walked towards the counters, his eyes scanning the goods as he nodded slightly. A quick glance at the Bai Lian Pavilion was enough to confirm that it had a strong foundation. Materials that were rare in the Jia Ma Empire were casually displayed in the main hall here.

However, when Mo Yu looked at the prices of the materials, he couldn't help but shake his head. Although Bai Lian Pavilion had a rich selection, the prices were inflated several times compared to those in the outside world.

Mo Yu continued to browse the counters, and after a while, his eyes lit up as he stopped in front of the last counter.

Through his earlier observations, he had found most of the auxiliary materials needed to craft the Spirit-Merging Holy Grail. However, he had yet to see the main materials.

This was not surprising to Mo Yu. After all, the Spirit-Merging Holy Grail was a sixth-tier artifact, and its main materials were extremely rare. Even though Bai Lian Pavilion had a strong foundation, they wouldn't easily put out such precious items for sale.

The main materials he needed included the Fire Sun Stone, Red Refined Divine Copper, Seven-Colored Ancient Vine, and a sixth-tier soul attribute magic core.

From their names alone, it was clear that these materials were extraordinary. And as for the sixth-tier soul attribute magic core, it was incredibly rare. Sixth-tier magic cores were already hard to come by, as the beasts that produced them were equivalent to Dou Huang-level human experts. Even in a place like the Black-Corner Region, where powerful experts were numerous, Dou Huang-level experts were still rare.

Moreover, soul attribute beasts were as rare as phoenix feathers and unicorn horns.

Shaking his head, Mo Yu decided to focus on gathering the auxiliary materials for the Spirit-Merging Holy Grail first.

Indeed, Bai Lian Pavilion lived up to its reputation in the Black-Corner Region. Through his previous examination, Mo Yu had found most of the auxiliary materials needed for the Spirit-Merging Holy Grail.

However, after calculating the cost, he realized that purchasing all those materials would require at least a million gold coins.

While Mo Yu didn't consider a million gold coins to be an insurmountable amount, he currently didn't have that much on hand.

After pondering for a moment, Mo Yu decided to spend all the gold coins he had to buy some basic crafting materials. He would then craft some weapons and sell them at the auction.

In a place like the Black-Corner Region, where powerful experts were numerous, high-grade weapons were likely to be in high demand.

With that plan in mind, Mo Yu didn't hesitate any longer. He spent half an hour selecting materials to craft the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Sword and the Breaking Array Overlord Halberd. Then, he left Bai Lian Pavilion.

After leaving Bai Lian Pavilion, Mo Yu walked along the street for about ten minutes before stopping at the entrance of an inn called Ru Jia Inn. After a brief hesitation, he walked inside.

In the quiet little room, Mo Yu laid out the materials he had just purchased. After a moment of contemplation, he began his crafting process.

To ensure he could raise enough money, Mo Yu had chosen to craft two fourth-tier weapons.

The Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Sword, as its name suggests, could switch between ice and fire attributes, even unleashing a mixed attack of ice and fire. It was an excellent weapon for cultivators with dual ice and fire attributes.

The Breaking Array Overlord Halberd, on the other hand, was much simpler. It was a powerful, imposing halberd known for its destructive capabilities. Its fourth-tier quality made it an attractive option for those who valued brute strength.

As time passed, Mo Yu's crafting process finally came to an end after two hours.

Looking at the magnificent sword glowing with red and blue light and the imposing black halberd before him, Mo Yu couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

Although crafting two fourth-tier weapons was no challenge for him, considering his past mastery, it was still gratifying to succeed on the first try.

With a wave of his hand, the two weapons began to hum and vibrate, floating in front of Mo Yu before he smiled and stored them in his beast ring.

"These two fourth-tier weapons are my capital for making a fortune," Mo Yu murmured as he wiped the sweat from his forehead.

Having entered the Black-Corner Region, Mo Yu knew he was in desperate need of money. Even the auxiliary materials required a large sum, let alone the main materials.

Moreover, the Black-Corner Region was a treasure trove waiting to be explored. If Mo Yu wanted to extract more benefits from it, he would need a substantial amount of money.

After finishing his crafting, Mo Yu rested for a moment before heading out towards the largest auction house in the city—the Di Yan Auction House.

Ten minutes later, Mo Yu found himself standing at the end of a bustling street, looking up at the colossal auction house that towered before him. He raised an eyebrow in surprise.

Compared to the Mittel Family Auction House in the Jia Ma Empire's capital, this Di Yan Auction House was like a giant compared to a dwarf.

The Black-Corner Region was indeed a place full of surprises.

With his head slightly lowered, Mo Yu, now dressed in a long black cloak that concealed his face in shadows, made his way towards the auction house. In this unfamiliar and dangerous place, he had no intention of revealing his identity.

Following the crowd, Mo Yu entered the auction house. Inside, large screens hung on the walls, displaying the countless items up for auction. Mo Yu glanced at them briefly but didn't see anything particularly remarkable.

Of course, the truly valuable items were likely being kept as the auction's final highlights.

After scanning the surroundings, Mo Yu's gaze finally landed on the entrance to an appraisal room. After a moment of thought, he walked over and stepped inside.

The appraisal room was spacious, divided into over a hundred small private rooms to ensure privacy.

As soon as Mo Yu entered the appraisal room, a beautiful attendant approached him with a charming smile. "Sir, are you here for an appraisal, or would you like to have your items evaluated for auction?"

"The latter," Mo Yu replied in a neutral tone.

"Please follow me," the attendant said with a seductive smile, then turned to lead the way.

Following the attendant for about thirty meters, she stopped in front of a small private room. She respectfully bowed to Mo Yu and smiled, "Sir, please hand over the items you wish to auction to the master inside for evaluation. Based on the value of your items, you will be assigned a seat of the appropriate level for the auction."

Mo Yu nodded slightly, pushed open the black wooden door, and stepped inside, closing the door behind him.

The small private room was well-lit. A middle-aged man with an ordinary appearance glanced at Mo Yu with sharp eyes. However, since Mo Yu was completely concealed in his black cloak, the man couldn't discern much about him.

"Please have a seat," the man said casually, gesturing to the chair in front of the table. After arranging some tools for appraising auction items, he added indifferently, "Take out the items you wish to auction."

Mo Yu remained silent, simply flicking his wrist to produce the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Sword and the Breaking Array Overlord Halberd, which he placed on the table.

"Weapons?" the man muttered, slightly surprised. He raised his head and examined the two weapons, a look of astonishment crossing his face.

Donning a pair of thin, transparent gloves, he carefully touched the weapons, sensing the powerful energy within them. After a moment of contemplation, his expression shifted slightly as he exclaimed, "These are... fourth-tier weapons?"

Mo Yu nodded slightly, then briefly explained the features and uses of the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Sword and the Breaking Array Overlord Halberd. "Since you recognize them as fourth-tier weapons, you should also know their value. Please help me estimate a starting price for the auction."

"Based on the Black-Corner Region's standards, this Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Sword should have a starting price of around 500,000 gold coins. If the right buyer comes along, it could sell for up to a million."

"As for the Breaking Array Overlord Halberd, it's suitable for a wider range of users. Its starting price would be around 600,000, though its upper limit may not be as high as the sword's. Still, it should fetch at least 800,000."

"Sir, the value of your auction items qualifies you for a second-tier VIP level in our Di Yan Auction House. Here is your seat number. The auction will officially begin this afternoon, so please take your seat accordingly," the man said as he carefully placed the weapons back on the table, then handed Mo Yu a card made of red gold foil.

Mo Yu nodded, took the gold foil card, and asked, "May I leave now?"

"Of course, sir. Please feel free," the man replied with a smile.

With that, Mo Yu wasted no time in getting up and walking out of the room.

As the door slowly closed and the sound of footsteps gradually faded away, the man tapped his fingers on the table. After a long pause, he looked down at the two fourth-tier weapons, a strange expression flickering in his eyes.

"This person... I've never seen him before. To bring out two fourth-tier weapons at once, he must be a skilled blacksmith, and not just any blacksmith. His level is not low..."

"A blacksmith capable of crafting fourth-tier weapons is rare in the Black-Corner Region. I think our sect master will be very interested in someone like him."
