In reality, Ewan didn't go to a random forest; the place he ventured into was the deadliest forest where, if a beastman dared to enter, not even a single nail could escape. Though it was unknown whether those who entered were dead or not, it was the worst nightmare for beastmen outside the forest. They dared not risk their lives; at least when going to the sky, if they regretted their decision, they could still return. But in the case of this forest, there was no chance for regret, much less turning back.
Ewan proposed to enter the forest because of the abnormalities of the baby inside Lily's tummy, and this worried him about Lily's health. Others might not have noticed, but he, being a doctor, observed the unnoticed changes in Lily.
