He rolled over and climbed into bed, wrapping his arms around Shen Heyu's waist from behind and whispered in her ear, "Don't ignore me."
His tone was one of appeasement.
Shen Heyu didn't respond to him, knowing that this was his pitiful act, a tactic he had become too accustomed to using. However, this tactic had been employed quite frequently of late.
She didn't understand how he could have changed so suddenly, with no trace of the transition.
So, she just kept quiet, curling up in his embrace, in truth also having no escape. She had spent too much energy during the daylight hours, and she was already very tired. Not long after, she fell fast asleep.
Pei Yansi was initially keen on engaging her in some physical exercise but, when he turned his head to look at her, he found she had already fallen into a deep sleep.
