Hook's Pirate Ship, Midnight at the Neverland Cliffs…
While Peter and the fairies were on their crusade to save the children, said children were not exactly having the time of their lives (understatement of the year but the pirates weren't letting them stay put and undisturbed so to speak). Drunk off their first victory over Peter Pan for the first time in what felt like forever, the pirates were imbibing rum, dancing merrily and harassing the children for no particular reason. The Lost Boys were grim faced, knowing what fate awaited them if their fearless leader didn't make an appearance soon – they were more worried about the Darling siblings as they had never experienced a kidnapping before (the Lost Boys had, given their many adventures but never the whole group like this).
Michael had his hands full trying to keep his younger brother John from bursting into tears as he didn't know what the pirates would do to make a mewling brat 'shut up' while simultaneously diverting the pirates' attention to him so John didn't get hurt. In true older brother fashion, Michael bore the brunt of the teasing, the bad jokes about his glasses and all the shenanigans they put him through. The Lost Boys admired him for that – the boys were a little too squeamish about most of their adventures so they had written them (especially Michael) off as cowards but his self sacrifice for his brother made them respect him a lot more.
Wendy on the other hand was in an entirely different situation. While not physically threatened, she was in a precarious situation with the captain himself. After their capture by the pirates, the boys were taken to the deck for the pirates' amusement but she was taken to Hook's private quarters under the excuse that she was a lady and needed to be treated as such. While the flamboyant words of Hook were all flowery and well meaning, the smarmy man didn't garner any favor with Wendy, given what she had seen of his interactions with Tiger Lily – the man seemed to believe that he was some type of Don Lothario character, his charm virtually irresistible to women. As such, she found herself having a candle-lit dinner with Hook, with Mr. Smee as their personal waiter.
"How is the halibut my dear? It was freshly caught for the occasion you know?" Hook said, holding a crystal goblet of wine as he watched Wendy look around the room, his eyes flicking over her body. He had dug out a fine blue dress and had her wear it for their 'dinner date' (the less was said about exactly why he had dress in Wendy's size when he was a grown man the better though – when a man like Hook spends decades in the company of men and boys, any female looking vaguely nubile enough was fair game in his eyes…).
"Erm…it is fine…why are you doing all of this anyway? Peter never really explained why you two seem to despise each other so much…" Wendy said as she forced a weak smile on her face while trying to conceal how Hook's salacious gaze was making her want to vomit. She knew what the disgusting man was trying to do – offering her wine and plying her with gifts (she was a precocious girl but no sane thirteen year old wants to be courted by a man old enough to be her father!).
Hook's eyes flashed with derision at Wendy's question, his gaze returning to his hook (now a burnished gold for the occasion).
"While I don't believe this is a tale that should be heard by a lady of such obviously genteel parentage, I suppose I can entertain your request. After all, it's not every day you learn that your idol is in fact a ruffian…" He said as he then launched into a passionate spiel about how he, a graduate of Oxford university was forced into piracy by extenuating circumstances, painting himself as a struggling businessman whose endeavors were consistently foiled by the meddling brat known as Peter Pan. He mentioned that the boy was an irrational fool who only cared for his own amusement and that he wouldn't even be such a thorn in his side if he didn't have help from his fairy, Tiger Lily and Naruto.
Of course, Wendy couldn't just sit and listen to Hook's never ending litany of defamation and quietly pointed out how he was the one who started the fights with Peter and the Indians.
"But weren't you the one who attacked us when we came to Neverland? Tiger also mentioned that you had her drugged to kidnap her!" Wendy said as Hook's eyes danced with a mad light, overturning the table as he grabbed Wendy's arm harshly. Relishing in her cry of pain, he then pulled her out of the room and walked over to the ship's deck, where the boys were all tied together.
"Alright men – time to send our guests home in true pirate fashion! Prepare the plank because some kiddies are about to take a trip to Davy Jones Locker!" He said as the boys were pushed towards the ship's edge, where the pirates readied a long plank on its ocean facing side.
"Wait! Why are you doing all of this?! We're just children!" Wendy said, appalled at the pirates and how they were willing to callously murder children. She was put last in line to walk the plank, with her brothers up in front (John being the first).
"Hehehe! This is partly your fault darling – had you behaved like a proper lady and accepted my tale and courting, then perhaps this could have been avoided. Now I will simply break your spirit by killing your brothers in front of you – if you do break, I'll be taking you as my concubine! If not, well, I could just return to chasing Tiger again!" Hook said, laughing maniacally as the Lost Boy's eldest member Slightly turned to him with a defiant look.
"You're a crazy old man Hook! Peter will have your head when he comes to rescue us!" He said as Hook simply smirked at him.
"That may have been true before but I left a little surprise for him in your little clubhouse. A little bomb that will make sure that brat will no longer be a thorn in my side!!" He said as the children all gasped in shock before crying in sorrow to his delight.
However, his gloating was short lived as he then heard the dreaded whooping of his great nemesis.
"That sound – no it can't be! He's supposed to be dead!" Hook said as he pulled at his hair in exasperation, the children cheering when Peter suddenly appeared, floating above their heads with an uncharacteristically serious look.
"Hook! Your evil deeds will end tonight – for your crimes against Tink, I shall take your life!" Peter said as he unsheathed his dagger and rushed over to clash with Hook, who met his charge with his hook.
"So my bomb did do something after all! Your precious fairy is no more! No it's only a matter of time before you can no longer fly and become easy fodder for me to kill!" Hook said, pulling out his cutlass and engaging Peter in a duel.
The children were shocked to hear Tinker Bell was dead and were contemplating just how to get out of their binds when they suddenly heard a powerful buzzing noise – the sound was so loud that everyone on the ship turned to look in its direction, only to be shell shocked to see what was causing it.
"What is that?! Mr Smee – what do you see with that spyglass?!" Hook said as Mr Smee took the spyglass and looked through it with shaky hands. What he saw had him dropping the item from his numb hands, so great was his shock.
"C-captain! That fairy-the partner of Tiger Lily! He's coming to the ship but he's as big as a human now – what's more, he's managed to duplicate himself to the point where he was able to bring the entire Indian tribe over with him!!" Mr Smee said as Hook turned deathly pale, Peter chuckling darkly at his expression before Hook turned to regard his crew, who looked ready to jump ship when faced with such impossible odds.
"Never fear men – ready the cannons! We'll shoot them out of the sky before they even get here!" Hook said as the men all scrambled to their battle stations, the children long since forgotten.
This was all for naught though as Hook severely underestimated Naruto's flight speed – it had taken him around seven minutes to round up reinforcements with Tiger and Tink before rushing over to the rescue with the girls really taken aback by Naruto's new zest for life (he was a relatively subdued person before – really acting like the 'older brother' type).
"HOOK! Prepare for the beating of a lifetime – when we're done with you, that hook of yours will be the only thing left intact of your body!" Naruto roared with feral abandon, the rousing yells from his clones and Indian braves turning the pirates' blood into ice in their veins, rooting their feet where they stood.
And to add even more insult to injury, a familiar tinkling sound was also heard as Tinker Bell fluttered around Naruto's true body, positively glowing with energy.
"No…I couldn't even kill one lousy fairy…well…at least I can try to kill Peter!" Hook said as Naruto entered the battle, the Indians leaping off their 'steeds' with Tiger leading the charge.
What followed was nothing short of a complete slaughter fest as the pirates were summarily routed by Naruto's clones and the Indians. Tiger Lily, now boosted with herculean levels of strength actually had to pull her punches after accidentally turning one pirate who caught her by surprise into a fine red mist with one punch. Of course, this only served to demoralize the pirates further, making them easy prey for the other Indians, who were enjoying this chance to show off the fruits of their training (hey, they got sick of relying on Tiger and Peter to save them from pirates…).
Naruto went to free the children before entering the fray of battle, his clones more than making up the difference as they poofed into blue pixie dust, energizing the Indians with super speed.
"Hey, are you kids alright? Sorry for the wait – heroes always arrive at the last minute you know!" Naruto said as he untied the children, the boys all rushing to battle, the pixie dust from Naruto's clones giving them a taste of what it felt like to be like Peter as they blitzed the pirates with joyous whoops.
"Y-you came back to save us! I-I thought you and Tink were dead – Hook said so!" Wendy said as she wiped a stray tear from her face as Naruto gave her a warm smile before ruffling her hair affectionately.
"Oh, it will take more than a simple bomb to do this man in! Tinker Bell was in a precarious situation for a few minutes but she pulled through!" Naruto said as he pulled Wendy away from the plank.
Now free of her bonds, Wendy finally got her first good look at Naruto's true form and immediately began blushing a pretty pink. He looked like a twenty three year old man, with a lithe and muscular body, the lines of his muscles glowing with a faint blue light as did his eyes, which were now a startling luminescent blue. His wings were also changed – no longer physical limbs, they were now energy constructs he could dismiss at will (as she observed when they dissipated in a shower of blue sparkles).
"Wow! So this is your true form? You look smashing Naruto!" Wendy said as Naruto laughed at her adorable expression, her eyes twinkling as she looked him over.
"Yeah – Tink and Tiger had a similar reaction. It feels good to finally be myself again!" Naruto said as he ran a hand over his chest.
While they were talking however, they missed a pirate rushing over to the two with a dagger drawn. Thankfully, Tink was close by and noticing the imminent danger, rushed to intercept. However, she didn't expect what came next – when rushing over to try and disorient the man, she expanded to himan size just as she reached the pirate, colliding with him and sending the hapless ruffian overboard and out of mind.
"Tink! You actually changed forms! I didn't know you could do that!" Naruto said as Tink squealed in delight.
"Oh Naruto! You must have given me some your magic when we kissed! How romantic~" Tink said as she held arm and swooned, Naruto scratching head in slight embarrassment before everyone turned to see Hook get defeated by Peter, the boy disarming the pirate before holding him at swordpoint with his newly acquired weapon.
"It's over Hook! You've lost!" Peter said as Hook looked around, considering his options before grumbling his assent.
"Yes, yes…you win. I surrender." He said as Peter crowed in triumph before declaring that Hook was to leave Neverland and never return. Once Peter turned his back though, Hook rushed in for a sneak attack, his hook flashing in the moonlight.
"Peter, look out!" Wendy yelled out as Naruto cursed before disappearing in a flash of blue light.
Peter was quick to duck, avoiding Hook's stab and the pirate was then treated to the business end of Naruto's fist, which launched him overboard unconscious and with a broken jaw to boot. Once the pirate captain entered the ocean, his ever present reptilian bane was quick to rush over to the man and tear him to shreds, consuming the man with great relish.
Now thoroughly cowed, the pirates all jumped ship – using the lifeboats to row to safety, leaving the Indians, Peter, Naruto, Tink, Tiger and the children as the masters of the ship.
Wiping some sweat off his brow, Naruto then turned to the Darling children.
"Well kids, I think that's enough adventure for a fortnight – let's get you home!"
A few hours later, in the skies above Bloomsbury…
After the Indians returned to their village (Tiger remaining with her man of course…) Naruto and Tink enchanted the ship to be airborne, taking the kids back to England. The Darling children had a joyful reunion with their parents, with their father now re-discovering his inner child and acceding to the fact that some childhood fantasies were indeed real.
Now, normally this is when Peter would return with his new clubhouse back to Neverland but Naruto had other plans.
"So let me understand Naruto. You want us to come with you so you can cast an illusion on Wendy to enter Wonderland so you can find and introduce us to your first loves?" Tinker Bell (in her big form) said as Tiger turned to look at Naruto from her position leaning on his side, enjoying how her adult body was supported by Naruto's. The women were cuddling with Naruto as they looked up at the full moon above them, enjoying the calm atmosphere as the ship moved aimlessly through the skies.
"Yeah – if I am going to pursue a relationship with you two, then I should introduce you to the rest of the family." Naruto said as Tiger hummed in consent.
"Most wise husband. Let us meet the rest of our family then." She said as Tinker Bell blushed at the notion of 'family' with Naruto. Peter and the boys returned to Neverland once the trio explained their plans though, exhausted and needing a rest.
The trio then flew over to the Darling nursery, waking Wendy up before Naruto explained that he needed to put her under an illusion (genjutsu) so she could dream of Wonderland. Wendy was all too happy to aid her crush, ecstatic that he came back after Peter left (she still wanted a chance with Naruto – she was willing to wait as long as she had to). The genjutsu worked as intended, Wendy falling into a deep slumber while simultaneously pulling the others into her dream.
When Naruto finally came to, he was on the shores of a familiar beach – an even more familiar dodo in the distance making him smile.
"At last, after so many years, I found Wonderland again…"
And that was chapter 34! Naruto will reunite with the other girls next chapter (things have changed in forty years and he'll be getting quite the surprise when he does find them)!
