After Adam left, Sophia and Eve glanced at Alicia for a moment before coming to their feet and exiting the room.
"This is a slippery slope, 'Licia," sighed Réne as he pinched the bridge of his nose. "No one is going to want you in their bedrooms. Take a step back and think things through before you do anything that you can't take back."
"You, too?" sneered Alicia, her face dropping as she glared at Réne. "When you and I started this base all those years ago, we agreed that we would do whatever was needed to help people and make sure that humans are the only ones left standing at the end of it all. Well guess what? The zombies are gone. They are no longer hunting us, and we are still stagnant. If this keeps up, nothing is going to change. This will be our new normal, and I don't want that."
