As hard as it was, getting up the mountain was a lot easier than getting down it. I stood on the ridge, looking at the small boat beneath me, wondering what I should do next.
"Do you think that if I jumped, one of the guys would catch me?" I asked, tilting my head to the side as I studied the distance. Maybe if I had some way to warn them that I was contemplating jumping and for them to be ready, I would go through with it.
But the last thing I wanted to do was assume that some would see me falling. After all, we all know what happens when you assume something. Plus, I don't think I would look good as a pancake.
"I wish that me and everyone up here with me return to the ship, safe and sound," smiled Luca as if reading my mind.
Fuck! A wish! Why didn't I consider that option?
