Summary:
So unbelievably so
Steven was wrong, breaks didn't exist, they just gave way to new ways to torture you. "You're alive Pink! I can't believe you're alive!" The current one? Blue squeezing the life out of him as she cried with so much relief every gem could feel it.
"Too many tears … we're alive but … so is Steven!" Amethyst cried out, trying to bang her head against a wall.
"I'm glad we're not fighting anymore…but.." Star groaned as she fell to the ground. "We've been fighting for nearly an entire day…and my reserves are low as it is."
"Oh dear…I've almost forgotten what this felt like…I did not miss it." Mom slumped down onto the wood next to Star.
"I don't like this one bit." Garnet grumbled as the tears were leaking down her eyes like a broken facet. "Steven shouldn't be so close to Blue Diamond…"
"As long as he's Pink Diamond, they're not going to hurt him." Kelly reminded them. "Although the smothering fest has been going on for an hour, and I think the Mewni team is still fighting off soldiers.
Right, they needed to get back on track. "Blue … could you please … calm down?" He asked. "You're hurting everyone."
"Oh, I'm sorry." She immediately stopped the aura, gently releasing him. The tears finally stopped falling and his family looked like they were getting their strength back.
Steven was finally free from the smothering hug of Blue … only to fall into the painful grasp of Yellow. "Do you have ANY idea what you put us all through!?" She shouted, shaking him around. "Six THOUSAND years of thinking you were dead and even during the trial you say nothing Pink!"
"Well one, everyone I ever try to explain this to always assumes I'm lying and goes straight to killing me…" He mumbled as he tried to wiggle himself enough room
"Well why would you put yourself in this disgusting form to begin with?" She asked. "An organic, seriously?"
"I have bottomed out on the well of feeling insulted." Marco grumbled.
"As have I on the whole 'explaining childbirth' thing with Gems." Steven rolled his eyes. "I'm not Pink, she gave me her gem through a process." He showed off his stomach.
The two Diamonds stared at him with confusion. "So … you don't remember anything?" Blue asked with a hint of disappointment.
"No…sorry, I have Roses…Pink's gem, but that's all…I'm like a new gem she created with her own." He hoped that simplified matters enough for them.
Yellow stared at him curiously, before giving a hum. "We'll get your memories back somehow." She said, "Now come on, we'll have to fix up the ship before we continue the colonization of Earth and Mewni."
"What, no, no, We're not doing that!" Steven shouted, waving his hands.
"... Yes we are." Blue said with confusion. "Even if you stopped, it's our mission to expand Homeowlord as far as possible."
"Not to mention you're the one that begged for a colony for so long." Yellow grumbled. "And now you say you don't want it. Just let us handle it from here."
This was getting them nowhere, and it looked like they were just going to stumble into an even BIGGER mess. "Excuse me, pardon me, you are the rulers of your own Empire, correct." Before he could think about it further, mom spoke up to them with a firm look on her face.
"With White Diamond, yes." Blue said, at least willing to talk with her like they were people.
"Well my family and I happen to rule Mewni, a tradition we've upheld for over hundreds of years." Mom half fudged the truth to get their attention. "It comes to my understanding that in matters of Magic, your empire is rather…lacking shall we say?"
"I tried to interrogate your people for the last week for information, yes." Blue spoke with a particularly annoyed look. "The most our people were able to glean from it was the interdimensional warping, the rest of it still remains a mystery.
"Well my family and Pink Diamond have worked with each other since the earliest days of my people." Mom kept explaining. "Together we've come to understand magic on a fundamental level. Isn't that right?" She gestured to him with a wink.
"Ah…yeah, we totally have!" Steven carried on with it. "It's better if Mewni and Earth stays intact as it is so we don't ruin all the progress! Both have magic, and colonizing it will deter our understanding!"
The two Diamonds stared at the two of them, before glancing at each other. "Don't look at me, you're the diplomat." Yellow snarked.
"Very well." Blue sighed. "I'll need to run it by White, but if we can conquer the technology more than we already have, then we should be capable of greater gains by letting one or two planets off." Well, it was a start.
"Speaking of." Anne said awkwardly. "How did you … actually get to Mewni?" A fairly good question, considering it was supposed to be a big mystery.
"I studied an arachnid with an appearance modifier." Blue mentioned off handedly. "I believe organic's call it a 'top hat'."
Everyone looked baffled at what she just said before Steven and his friends had a lightbulb click over their heads, turning to Star. "It was a life and death situation! They were going bananas at that stupid trial!"
"The trial that could have been avoided if you told us about Pink." Yellow glared. "I understand she now has amnesia, but someone else should have known."
"This is going to get really annoying really fast." Steven was already getting tired by the new status quo. "Look, can you at least call off your troops and stop attacking." He asked.
"Of course." Blue nodded with a small smile. "Yellow, activate your warp drive."
"On it." The Diamond scoffed, raising their arm as the ship in the water lit up … before exploding. "Or I would be if three rainbow colored pests didn't turn it to scrap metal."
"To be fair … the Cluster was already doing a number on its own." Blossom gave a small and nervous chuckle as the girls backed up just a tad.
"We can take you to Mewni personally, but only on two conditions." Steven raised his hand. "One, no more draining magic. No one's going to fight you, so you don't need to keep your aura's up."
"You've certainly gotten more demanding after six thousand years." Yellow rolled her eyes. "Fine. I won't blast anyone."
"I can try … but it's hard to keep my emotions in check." Blue said. "I have to feel nothing for it not to expand…but if you let me hold you more, I can focus on it better…" The smile she gave KNEW what it was doing.
After a small silence Star turned to his Mewni Dad. "Please, we beg of you, never let your side of the family expand any more than it already has."
"Don't worry, the Johansions are even more picky about marriage than the Butterfly family, that genepool is gonna stay small." Nice to know.
"And second…" Steven sighed as he got on Blue's hand. "You need to undo the corruption."
"....The what now?" Yellow asked. The fact they were oblivious to something so devastating just added onto the pile of this plan becoming increasingly uncomfortable.
"Alright, so you know how you supposedly blasted away all life from the surface of the planet?" Kelly asked.
"Yes, that is what White told us would happen if we combine our powers." Blue nodded
"Well it may have been the lack of Pink at the time, or some other factor … but that's not what happened." Steven explained
========================================================================
"This is what happened." Marco showed off the three Centipeetle, pacifying them with some chaaps. He had to make a quick stop to the barn as they took the Diamonds to Mewni, where they THANKFULLY kept their word about calling off their army. "Their minds were completely messed up and altered beyond self repair." The three beings hissed, running around the open space.
"This is … unprecedented." Blue stared horrified. As disturbing as it was, there was a small part of him that felt grateful she could feel guilt for her actions.
"And … every gem is like this?" Yellow clarified, unable to look away from the creatures.
"The only exceptions are Pearl, Garnet, Bismuth, and Amethyst." Steven waved to the Crystal gems. "Mom used her shield to protect them, but this was all."
"How long does that thing plan to remain fused, the fight is over?" Yellow asked bluntly. Almost forgot they were still evil, so there was still plenty of bigotry apparently.
"Not what's most important right now." Steven snapped his fingers. "I've tried to heal Centi once, but I only got halfway. I figured if we combine our powers.." Steven went on as he petted said gem on her white mane.
"Heal?" Blue looked confused. "Is that something we can do?"
"I don't know. It's never been required before." Yellow answered. "If you break a gem, you get rid of it and make a new one."
"Already feeling exhausted." Star mumbled as he rubbed her back. "And annoyed."
"Can you at least try it? I'm discovering new powers all the time." Stevens pouted.
Yellow sighed. "Very well, but I make no promises. I'll see what I can do." The Diamond touched her own gem, their hand glowing yellow as Star tensed up in his hold. She moved down, touching Centi, as they began to glow themselves, a bright green with a hint of yellow, their body shifting and changing as they shrunk. They all stared in awe as they closed into a humanoid figure. "There we go, good as new."
"Craaawwww." Centi croaked, trying to paw at Yellow's hand.
"She may be too far gone." Yellow groaned in disappointment, so she wasn't completely devoid of sympathy.
"Careful Yellow. Perhaps she just needs a more gentle touch." Blue touched her own gem where a light blue light went into her palm, and enwrapped the former centipeetle in a bright blue light. "There."
"No please, no no. We're all gonna be … No please, nono. We're all gonna be …" The gem repeated the motions, holding onto their head and saying the same thing over and over.
"You don't have anything to worry about anymore Centi." Steven licked his palm and patted the gem on it's back, where a light pink sparkle surrounded the gem.
The gem looked around, gazing at the Diamonds and flinching, beginning their salute. "Nephrite, Facet 413, Cabochon 12."
"No way." Amethyst muttered, the gems all gobsmacked at what may have been the first cure to exist.
"I never thought I'd ever see the day.." Pearl wiped a tear from her eyes.
"Steven…you did it…you finally did it!" Star went up and shook her brother gently.
The other centipeetles stared in confusion. "Hrrrsss."They said softly.
"I'm sorry for my failure to evacuate my Hessonite's evacuation orders." Nephrite apologized. "My team and I tried to make it out before the attack but …" They looked destroden, before brightening. "But you're here, so it must have worked! You avenged Pink Diamond and killed the horrible gem Rose Quartz!"
There was a collective wince from everyone present, most notably from the Diamond's themselves as Blue and Yellow retracted their hands, Nephrite instantly becoming Centipeetle once more. "Honestly Pink , how many perfectly adequate gems did you have us reunion over this game of yours?" He ran forward and had to hold Star back as she grumbled incoherently about the gaslighting.
"Shh, Yellow! Pink's been through enough. She's been trapped on the planet with creatures and lost her memory." Blue consoled the other Diamond, Star's thrashing doubling as she evolved to 'crashing a ship at them'.
"It was working, we need to do it again!" Steven ignored it entirely and went back to the current issue at hand.
"And do what, have all three of us touch one gem for the rest of eternity?" Yellow asked rhetorically. It did seem like a silly idea.
"It was a cure!" He shouted. "We've tried magic and my powers, but it didn't even amount to much! This is the first genuine result we've made! The Diamond's caused this, so it's all our responsibility to fix this mess!"
"We can only do so much on our own." Yellow sighed. "If it was the four of us, we'd stand a better chance."
"We can't let her see this! Who knows how she would react?" Blue complained with a worried look.
"Her? Her who!?" Steven groaned out, frustrated.
"Who else, White Diamond." The entire area became noticeably tenser, even the Centipeetle stopped chirping.
"Wh-white D-diamond?" Pearl asked, looking absolutely horrified.
"Well if that's who we need, then I need to talk to her." Steven said resolutely.
"Steven, please." Pearl went up and held his shoulders. "White Diamond isn't like other gems, she's not even like them." She gestured to Blue and Yellow. "There is no talking with her. No one has any idea what she's capable of."
"We've come this far, it's be stupid to just give up when we're almost there." Steven argued back.
"You might not have much luck with that." Blue looked off to the side. "White hasn't left Homeworld in eons, even we have hardly gotten a word in every century or so."
"Then we'll head to Homeworld." He argued back. "We'll talk to her there."
"Didn't we spend an entire week trying to get you OFF of Homeworld?" Moon asked with a slight bit of hysteria for where this conversation was going.
"That when there was no chance of getting through their heads, now we have A chance!" Steven justified. "And if we don't do anything now, the entire multiverse will have to deal with a Homeworld that can travel dimensions."
"I would like to vote for them heading to Homeworld." Willow raised her hand with Gus. They turned to see Amity and Caleb refused to do so.
"Honestly, as long as my sibs and Luz are okay, I'm willing to ditch." The purple haired girl shrugged.
"And most of my good memories involve Luz's house so if Earth is a safe zone…" Caleb said awkwardly.
"And once again I'm reminded of how morally gray our friend group really is." Marco muttered out loud. "We should get some suits though, I'd rather not breathe toxic air the moment Star's magic fails."
"Only the kindergarten parts of it are toxic, everything on top's clean to breathe." Star explained.
"But … they weren't even from our type of planet … how do so many places have oxygen specifically?" Anne asked.
"Just because we don't need to breathe doesn't mean we want the atmosphere to be full of toxins, we try to be as pure as possible." Blue responded. "Oxygen just so happens to be the most clean."
"Then it's settled." Steven said. "We're going to Homeworld!"
"Fine." Yellow rolled her eyes. "Blue power up your ship."
"Mine crashed down as well in my battle against a To'kustar…"
"Just how many organics do you know!?" Yellow shouted indignantly at Steven.
"It was actually a shifter. Galvanic Mechamorph, Megawatt, and a Conductioid of all things." Blue rolled her eyes. "So we might be stuck on the planet for a while.."
"Don't you have a literal army of ships?" Star questioned.
"Yes…but none of them are Diamond fitted and we refuse to shapeshift." Yellow pouted.
"Unless…" Blue turned to Steven. "You wouldn't happen to have yours, do you?"
The Butterfly boy sighed. "Time to go grab my legs."
"I swear, I will never comprehend the context of your adventures." Moon muttered.
========================================================================
"Are you sure you need to go to Homeworld?" Greg asked his son. The boy had just gotten back from fighting an freaking WAR of all things, and here he was now going off planet without even giving it a good day in between to rest.
"Yes, I'm sure." He stated firmly.
"It's just …" Greg tensed. "I can't process losing you … again." The man tried to be strong, but he had his limits.
"Dad, if literal universe's couldn't keep us from seeing each other, then a planetary trip is rather small in comparison." His son patted him on the back with a smile. "Besides, I'm not going to space alone this time."
Pearl walked with a very tense look on her face. "Going back to Homeworld … going back to Homeworld … going back to Homeworld …" She muttered in a trance.
"Keep it together, their comments can't hurt you, just roll it off and keep your distance." Garnet spoke to herself.
"We'll do it, we'll come out on top, just like always." And Amethyst was giving herself a pep talk. "We can do it, we can do it. Heck, maybe I'll add more gems to the famethyst!"
"And don't you worry, I'm sticking to his back like glue." Star came up and rubbed her brother on the head. "The moment things turn sour, I'm turning up the darkness and blasting our way back to earth."
"You being in space is just as troublesome for us, if not more so." Moon sighed as she brought her children in for a hug. "I hate how fast you two had to grow up, but I admire it all the same.'
"I don't mind the speed … I do mind the destination." River hugged them all. "The stars are no place for man, but you've survived it anyway."
"You know, you guys could probably go." Greg tried to suggest. "If they're letting Marco and Kelly go, then.."
"As much as I would, there's still too much to do back on Mewni now that the war's over." Moon answered with a solemn look. "It may not be my home anymore, but they're still my people. I want to care for them even if I don't lead them
"The gems have made a mess of everything, so many trees to replant … and who knows what those injectors have done." River shuttered.
"What about your other friends?" Greg really was scraping the bottom of the barrels.
"It's one of those trips where the smaller the group, the better." Star explained.
"Also we're recovering." A boy with a pine tree hat said with a tired look. "Our equipment is fried, the Kwami are overstrained, Ben has gene damage from watch overuse, and any magic users would be dead weight … no offense."
"None taken." Camila's kid said with a slight pout. "No matter how much I'd love to go."
"Eh, we're still young and crazy. Pretty sure there's room for another space adventure once we're done surviving this crazy thing." Kelly waved off with a smirk.
"And besides, we have our own ship for protection." Marco pointed to the giant pair of pink legs.
"I still can't decide if that ship's more cheese or wonk, but it's something." A teen in a ninja outfit scratched his head.
"Can ANYONE understand what he says?" A dragon kid asked.
"We gave up trying." Steven groaned. "... We'll come back safe, don't worry." The boy assured him. "This time nobody will want to kill me, so that's a definite victory."
"Okay, I hold you to that." Greg wasn't sure if this was more of a downside from not raising Steven or the boy having more of a life outside of him, but the man knew there was little he could say to stop him.
"I better not keep the Diamonds waiting." Steven gave them a hug, before running off. "Be safe!"
"That's what we're telling you to do!" Moon called out to them before the group headed into the ship. "One minute, you're telling them they can't have popcorn for every meal, next you're waving them off as they embark on a diplomatic space mission."
"I'm half happy he's doing what he wants, but … yeah, I see what you mean." He muttered as the ship began to walk … very awkwardly. "Aww, baby steps."
"I'm not even sure of how appropriate this is for anyone to witness." Camila walked up to him, and held him by the arm. "Are you going to be alright?"
"Yeah … sometimes, you just have to accept they need to do their own thing." He watched the pink legs jump into the air, soon becoming a twinkling star. "I just wish there was more I could do for him."
"Being here with a nice warm meal to greet him will probably be a good start." His girlfriend patted his back.
"Yeah … I better start up the grill." He smiled. It was nice to be reminded of just how much he truly had now.
========================================================================
Garnet sat awkwardly, the room noticeably tense. "So, how many days till we get to Homeworld?" Star asked, having either no sense of self preservation or no care for danger.
"This isn't some organic ship." Yellow waved off, apparently not bothered by the question. "We'll be there in three hours."
"Oh thank corn, it's another quick trip." Steven sighed in relief. "I would go crazy if we had to spend a week playing go fish again." He moved and shifted awkwardly in the light projected, for the lack of a better word, pants, on his legs now.
"What game did you invent that requires aquatic life?" Blue Diamond asked with a hint of curiosity, Garnet instantly rubbing herself to calm down. It's okay, they didn't remember us, we'll be fine if we stay quiet. Still doesn't mean I have to like her! Of course you don't have to, nobody here does.
"It's a nickname involving cards." Steven explained. "I'll tell you about it later, we should probably talk about White first." She could see Pearl tense up in her preferable vision. "What's she like?"
"... She's the most perfect of any gem." Yellow spoke. "She's the one that creates the rules and standards we have to carry out."
"She's…very bright….and tall…." Blue said more hesitantly, and Garnet couldn't help but feel good at the small hints of fear that were across the Diamond's face.
"But how do you feel about her?" Steven asked. "Does she have any interests outside of ruling? Does she have a hobby?" The large tyrants turned away with each question she asked. "Is she ever happy?"
"You were the only thing to ever make White happy, Pink." Yellow said. "She even had her own little nickname for you, her 'Starlight'."
Star blinked at that, letting out a minor snort that was joined with Steven's attempt to hide a chuckle. "The irony of a late life, I guess." The Mewman chuckled. "But seriously, do you love her?" Star asked.
"... She exists." Blue said hesitantly. "We do what is asked of us, and nothing bad happens."
"We enforce her rules to the best of our abilities, and we live in peace." Yellow continued as she rubbed her arms.
"And what happens when you don't follow her rules?" Steven asked.
"...Let's just say you'll get the picture when you see your old…or rather…her Pearl." Blue shuddered.
"Is anyone else getting warning flags larger than we saw from the moon dream?" Kelly whispered to the group.
"Big time." Marco spoke for everyone. "But we've gone almost half a day talking to them and they haven't tried to kill us, so we're already improving from where we were a day ago."
Steven looked out at the stars, then turned to Blue. "Thank you." The Diamond raised an eye. "I don't have any memories, but from what I've seen you at least tried to preserve earth and its people … and they mean a lot to me."
"Oh…no need to thank me, it was no trouble at all…" Yellow gave a questioning look at Blue for that comment. "...Okay, there was a little trouble for it, but I considered it a worthwhile investment." She gently rubbed one of those giant fingers on Steven's head, and it took every fiber of willpower in Garnet to not rush him out of the way. "I may not understand your fascination with organic life, but it felt like a part of you was with me as I looked it over."
"So …" Amethyst muttered. "Am I gonna be okay on Homeworld?" She asked hesitantly.
"You'll get name called, but otherwise you'll be fine." Pearl told the gem bluntly. "It'll be better than my position. I won't be able to go anywhere unless I'm by Steven's side, otherwise I'll be shattered for 'defective programming'."
"Speaking of which, we'll have to shatter any gems that threaten you during your stay on earth." Blue spoke out. "That's a capital offense that can never be forgiven.
Stevne tensed. "I mean, they either thought I was Rose Quartz or Pink Diamond so … technically 'every' gem has tried to threaten me." The boy chuckled nervously. "And that just seems like a … waste of resources?"
"Finally, you've learned not to be so wasteful." Yellow gave a light smile that instantly looked unnatural on her. "We'll just bubble a couple for a few years and revoke any special statuses they have."
Steven was about to say something, only for Star to cover his mouth. "Aquamarine was a notable threat." She said very seriously. "She tried to kill us before realizing she could get more for taking us in."
"Oh, but leave the Topaz fusion alone, she was fine." Steven caught on to what his sister was doing and went along with it.
"Not even on homeworld yet and they're already abusing royalty status." Kelly smirked.
"Technically they did that before we even met them." Marco noted with a grin of his own. "The more things change, the more they say the same."
"That's what I'm afraid of." Garnet muttered as she looked out at the stars.
========================================================================
Star walked out of the ship, gazing down at the silent streets. "Hello Gem Homeworld!" She shouted out with a wave. For once they weren't going to die instantly, so they could enjoy the confused and shocked looks of everyone, even if being back here gave them that headache.
"Pink, your Mewman pet is acting up." Yellow said rudely.
"She's not a pet, she's my sister." Steven argued.
"You're what now?" Blue asked. "I swear, you come up with the most ridiculous names. You might want to keep that on the downlow if you're serious about talking to White."
"She stays with me wherever I go." Steven said sternly. "... Also are they all waiting for something or-"
"PINK DIAMOND IS ALIVE!?" A voice from the crowd shouted. … Oh right, the whole era was created after the supposed death of Steven's mom.
"THIS IS INCREDIBLE!"
"THEY REALLY ARE INVINCIBLE!"
"NOTHING CAN KILL OUR GLORIOUS LEADERS! MAY THEIR LIGHT OUTLIVE THE UNIVERSE!"
"PINK! PINK! PINK!" This was somehow more appreciation from a crowd in five seconds then they ever got on Mewni.
She glanced at the group with a smile, only to see Marco on edge. "You okay man?"
"Waiting for the shoe to drop … things are never this easy." He responded.
"Did you guys make an announcement or something?" Steven turned to the Diamond's
"No … maybe it was the gems we recalled." Blue thought.
"Or it could have been the giant pair of Pink legs only Pink is capable of piloting." Yellow pointed out. "Or worse of all…."
"Hello." The group turned to the new voice … and saw something right out of the inter dimensional videos they saw … but worse. It was a Pearl, arms raised with a black and white look to them, standing at attention. Their gem was on their stomach, and their hair was in two buns. Their left eye was replaced with a series of cracks that shouldn't be there. But that all paled in comparison to what messed with Star most.
Her expression. It was this smile far too wide for comfort, like she was pretending to be fine, only for it to all be wrong. And soulless eyes that gazed back and through her as if she was nothing but space dust. "Welcome back. White Diamond requests your presence."
"Fine." Yellow sighed. "Lets hope her temper isn't too furious with us
"She only requested Pink." The comment instantly shut up Yellow, followed by them walking up and shoving Star out of the way.
"Hey, hey, hey!" Star shoved her finger into the Pearl's face. "I don't care who you are, I'm coming with my brother whether you like it or not!"
The Pearl twisted their head to her. "Your organic is acting up, Pink." There was an implied threat.
"She comes, or I leave." Steven narrowed his eyes.
They stared at Steven, their expression twitching a slight bit. "Very well." The three of them were bubbled, floating across the city and to the floating head.
Star clutched her head, the headache increasing every second. It now had a feeling attached to it … cold. Ice cold, complete lack of any warmth or care or a soul. Steven's hand holding her own was the only thing giving her any sense of comfort. "I'm here for you, we got this." Steven affirmed as they nodded to each other.
They were about to crash into a wall … only for them to phase through it completely, now residing inside the head. After which, the Pearl left them alone. "It's too quiet…and cold…." Star rubbed her arms and got ready to pull out Buttferfly mode the moment things went sour.
"Oh by the stars, you finally came back." They looked to the source of the latest voice … and faced something that gave Star the instinctual desire to flee for her own existence. Her white light was absolutely BLINDING, every moment she stared, she felt her insides trying to crawl out of her mouth. "You gave everyone quite the scare with this latest game of yours. They're so happy to see you safe and sound." White Diamond said so passively..
"I kno-"
"Did you have fun?" White cut Steven off instantly. "Did you get that little rebellious fit out of your system?"
"I-"
"It certainly lasted longer than I expected it to, but I can't say there hasn't been benefits to your latest tantrum. Dimensional travel? Even I would've never attempted such a ludicrous cause until now, so thank you."
Steven looked absolutely concerned and frustrated. "About tha-"
"Although it seems you haven't outgrown your habit of collecting pests as companions after all this time." The absolute living embodiment of terror kept speaking, turning her empty and soulless eyes onto her. "If you're going to keep pets like her, then at the very least don't let her go running around in that infected state of hers. By the star's, she's even tainted your light with its magic."
"She ha-"
"Don't worry, I'll clean it up." The light was worse. "Just like every other one of your messes."
"Clean it-" Star stopped talking as she was bathed in WHITE . "AAAAAAAAA"There was White , so much White, endless voids of White .
"Star-ACH!" Steven coughed violently as he clutched his chest.
"I know it hurts, but if you're going to be perfect, then you can't have lesser beings tying you down."
It overwhelmed Star. There was no up or down, no concept of time, just the endless stream of White removing everything that was her. More and more it bore down as she felt herself whittle further and further. SNAP. … Star felt something that should never be tampered with shatter.
She looked to her brother….the star's on his face were no longer there. "Steven…"
"Star…your hearts.." Steven weakly said. "They're…they're…"
She reached up for them … noticing the headache was gone. Why was it gone? "There we go." White spoke from above. "No more magic mucking about your systems, clean and radiant as an organic could hope to be."
"No…no!" Star tried to summon her hands and wings… but nothing came out. She tried to dip down…but there was nothing to dip into.
"We're glad to have you back, Pink." The two of them were bubbled once more, launched away before they could even get a word in edgewise. They were sent flying until they reached a large pink room, one with a huge open window that gave them a clear view of White's ship.
"STAR!" Steven instantly rushed to her as her legs suddenly felt weak, exhaustion hitting her. "Speak to me, speak to me!" He hugged her… but something about it felt missing.
"Steven …" It was so cold, the warmth was gone, her magic was gone. "I … I can't feel you." Their bond was broken.
