Lin Moyu ignored the Abyss Demon's taunts, his focus unshaken.
Stopping abruptly 50 meters from the approaching monsters, he smiled slightly. The corpse explosion skill had a 100-meter range, but 50 meters was the perfect middle ground—safe, yet close enough for maximum effect.
"The gate of the abyss is always open for you," the demon's voice echoed again, oozing malice.
Xia Xue reached his side, trusting Lin Moyu had a plan. She didn't ask why they had stopped. Meanwhile, Feng Xiu, Zuo Mei, and several others approached, confusion written across their faces.
"Why stop here?" Feng Xiu asked.
Lin Moyu's response was simple, yet chilling, "This is far enough."
At his command, 100 skeleton warriors appeared at once, materializing like an army from the shadows.
"That's a lot of summons," someone whispered.
As the skeletons charged, their speed shocked even Zuo Mei, a seasoned stalker. "They're faster than me..." she muttered, narrowing her eyes in disbelief.
The Abyss Demon sneered, mocking them, "Look at these bone puppets. Shall I feed them to my pets?"
But the skeletons moved with precision. Each Ferrin orc, towering and infected by the abyss, was soon surrounded by a dozen skeletons. Their blades gleamed crimson as they unleashed simultaneous strikes. Despite the ferocity of the orcs, Lin Moyu's warriors had the upper hand.
The orcs retaliated with their enormous swords, but Lin Moyu remained calm, gauging the damage his skeletons took. "Strength around 3000. Physique, over 3500. Impressive, but manageable."
Moments later, the first Ferrin orc crumbled under the relentless onslaught of Lin Moyu's undead army.
[You have killed a Level 19 Ferrin Orc Warrior. Experience +8000.]
Lin Moyu's eyes flickered. The experience gain confirmed his suspicion: these monsters could help him level up. He wasn't here just to survive—he was here to grow stronger.
Then came the explosions.
One by one, the orc corpses detonated. The sound echoed through the battlefield like thunder. Each burst wiped out more enemies, reducing the once formidable orcs to piles of carnage.
The candidates stood frozen, unable to comprehend the spectacle before them. More than a dozen explosions reverberated through the air, and all the Ferrin orcs lay dead.
"That... that wiped them all out?" someone whispered in awe.
"How can this be?" another gasped.
Lin Moyu surveyed the battlefield, his mind calculating. His skill's damage was tied to the vitality of the corpses—strong enemies meant stronger explosions. As long as he created the first casualty, the rest would follow.
Excitement buzzed among the candidates. "We're saved!" someone cheered. "This necromancer... he's too powerful!"
Wang Zihao, pale with disbelief, stammered, "How… how can anyone be that strong? It's not fair."
But no one paid him any mind. Everyone was still in shock from the carnage they had just witnessed.
Even the Abyss Demon couldn't comprehend what had happened. His voice, once brimming with sadistic glee, now trembled with rage and disbelief.
"Impossible! You've angered me, mortal. I'll kill you and feast on your flesh!"
Scarlet moonlight suddenly flared, bathing the battlefield in eerie light. Another wave of monsters emerged, rushing towards the candidates from all sides. But this time, they aimed directly at the professionals, forcing them to scatter in panic.
The Abyss Demon's voice rang out again, weaker but still filled with hatred. "Now, let's see how you survive this. You're all going to die!"
Lin Moyu glanced at the blood-red moon overhead, spotting a shadow—a presence.
"So, that's where you are."
He calculated the distance. About 200 meters. Without hesitation, he gave an order to his skeletons.
Several of them hoisted the corpse of a fallen orc and hurled it towards the red moon with incredible force. Then, one of the skeletons lifted Lin Moyu and launched him as well, following closely behind the corpse.
The Abyss Demon's voice faltered. "W-what are you doing? You madman!"
Lin Moyu remained silent, his eyes cold with intent.
The orc's body flew toward the shadow, and just as it neared, Lin Moyu detonated it mid-air. A deafening explosion followed, the shockwave slamming into the shadow.
The demon screamed in agony, but it wasn't dead yet.
"I will kill you! Tear you apart!" the voice screeched, but it had weakened noticeably.
Lin Moyu wasn't done. His hand glowed as he summoned a new skill: Soul Flame.
A pale flame appeared, dancing above the shadow. The demon let out another tortured cry.
"Wh-what kind of power is this?!" it howled in fear. "Why does it burn my soul?! What are you?! No such profession should exist!"
Lin Moyu's expression didn't change. Without hesitation, he cast another Soul Flame, sending the abyssal demon into another fit of screaming. As he fell back to the ground, the demon's voice grew weaker, its defiance giving way to panic.
It wouldn't last much longer.
