Lin Moyu was momentarily surprised. He hadn't expected the dungeon leader to flee.
The Mine Wolf King dashed into the tunnel, its roars echoing through the passageway. In response, distant howls reverberated from within the walls. Something felt off.
Sensing danger, Lin Moyu quickly recalled his skeleton warriors, ordering them to retreat to his side instead of pursuing the fleeing wolf.
Crunch!
Crunch!
With a grinding sound, the iron doors lining the passage began to creak open. Emerging from behind the gates were dozens of bloodthirsty wolves.
[Mine Wolf]
Level: 14
Power: 600
Agility: 600
Spirit: 200
Physique: 1000
Skill: Bite
The detection technique instantly revealed their stats—nothing too powerful individually, but there were hundreds of them.
A horde of wolves galloping toward you is enough to make anyone's skin crawl. Lin Moyu, however, remained calm.
Though the number of wolves was overwhelming, their attributes were weak compared to his skeleton warriors. Still, a thought crossed his mind: How do other teams handle this?
He doubted that a party of five professionals could face down such a large pack of wolves. But then, he glanced at the layout of the mine and realized the strategy: the narrow exit would allow only one wolf at a time to charge through. A knight could hold the entrance while a healer supported them, and a mage could blast the wolves with area attacks. With enough time, even a small team could survive this onslaught.
Lin Moyu figured out the trick, but there was something he didn't know—most teams wouldn't face this many wolves. Normally, there would be only a dozen or so mine wolves.
His current predicament was due to clearing all the mobs in the mine tunnels, which had triggered an unusual surge in the wolves' numbers. As a first-time visitor to the dungeon, he was unaware of this mechanic. No book had ever detailed such a thing.
Still, even if he'd known, he wouldn't have done things differently. Why would Lin Moyu pass up on so much experience?
As for difficulty? It wasn't difficult for him. Since entering the dungeon, he'd only given a few mental commands. He hadn't even broken a sweat.
The swarm of mine wolves rushing at him was, in his eyes, just a bounty of experience points.
His skeleton warriors formed a defensive circle around him, ready for the charge. One by one, the wolves collided with the skeletal warriors, their ferocious bites and slashing claws barely leaving a mark.
The wolves were relentless, but their attacks lacked the power to damage the high-defense skeletons.
As the remaining wolves approached, Lin Moyu gave a mental command. Five skeletons simultaneously ganged up on a single wolf. Flesh flew as they struck, and the wolf collapsed to the ground, dead within seconds.

[Acquired Wolf Fur x3]
A smirk tugged at Lin Moyu's lips as a faint light shimmered in his hand.
Corpse Explosion.
With a deafening bang, the wolf's body detonated. The blast dealt damage equal to 10% of the wolf's maximum health and, through Lin Moyu's talent, the explosion radius was magnified twentyfold. All enemies within 20 meters took damage equal to 200% of the wolf's vitality.
No wolf could withstand that.

[Acquired Bones x3]
The notifications appeared rapidly, the experience points surging like a rocket.
In the blink of an eye, Lin Moyu's experience bar jumped from 32% to 72%.
One explosion had earned him 40% of the experience needed to level up. The speed was astonishing.
Even Lin Moyu couldn't help but marvel at the sheer power of his Corpse Explosion skill. It was devastatingly strong. While he wasn't sure if it could match a mage's forbidden spells, at his current level, this skill felt nearly invincible.
At that moment, the Mine Wolf King limped back into view, its eyes filled with terror. It glanced around at the corpses of its fallen kin, clearly unable to comprehend how they had perished so quickly.
It couldn't understand the explosions either.
There were still a few wolf bodies lying at its feet.
"Let's give you the same treatment," Lin Moyu muttered coldly. His palm glowed once more.
Corpse Explosion.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Three consecutive detonations rocked the passageway, and the Mine Wolf King let out a tortured howl. Its flesh was torn apart, leaving only bones. Even some of those were shattered.
Whimper...
The wolf king let out a final cry before its massive frame shuddered and collapsed to the ground.
Already gravely injured, it couldn't withstand such a brutal assault.
[You have killed Level 15 Mine Wolf King. Experience +15000]
[Acquired Wolf King's Sharp Fangs]
[Acquired Low-Level Monster Crystal Core]
"Only 15,000 experience?" Lin Moyu frowned. "For a boss this strong, the reward is underwhelming."
The experience points from the Mine Wolf King were equivalent to those of five regular mine wolves. But Lin Moyu wasn't here for the experience alone. Boss-level monsters were about the loot they dropped.
The Wolf King's Sharp Fangs could be used to craft weapons and fetched a decent price on the exchange market. The Monster Crystal Core, used to make attribute-boosting jewelry, was also highly valuable.
Monster crystal cores only dropped from boss-level monsters, and even then, not always. Their rarity kept their market value high.
Lin Moyu glanced at the pile of loot, a satisfied smirk playing on his lips.
