The vacation was only half a day away, and Jimmy, upon returning, had nothing else to do, so he called Nia to check in. Having been unable to meet for the two days of her leave, being a detective was truly hard. Nia was still busy with the case, having just been promoted to detective, currently working with Chuck on an investigation, leaving her no time to meet with Jimmy.
The detective bureau of the NYPD was extremely busy. Federal cases were always fewer than local cases, and of course, federal cases were generally more serious, so even though Jimmy was off, Nia couldn't sync up with him.
Upon returning to work, intelligence officer Nick delivered very disappointing news to Jimmy.
