Leaning on the couch, Jimmy reflected on his recent criticism of Chris and suddenly felt as if he might have been a bit too harsh.
Although Chris left without saying anything, he at least waited for Agent Gordon and his team from headquarters to arrive at the office and had assigned their tasks before he left.
To the case, a reliable person in charge is very important. Chris clearly had an understanding of Gordon and knew that he was dependable before he didn't assign any extra tasks to Jimmy. He just made sure everything was safe and sound and let nature take its course, allowing Jimmy to take his place in the case based on his own skill, rather than being very distrustful and completely excluding Jimmy, leaving everything to the people from headquarters.
