That evening, Lucius arrived at the café where he had arranged to meet Carlo. The rooftop was deserted, save for the two of them.
Carlo set his cup down on the saucer and he met Lucius's sharp gaze.
Lucius didn't waste time on pleasantries. "I have no interest in making you my enemy. So, withdraw the woman you sent to infiltrate my people."
Carlo studied Lucius intently, a smirk tugging at his lips. "You weren't this kind of man before your marriage. Making peace with mafias was never in your nature. Seems like marriage has changed you quite a bit," he mused.
Lucius's expression remained neutral. "Do what you're told, Carlo," he ordered.
Carlo tilted his head, amusement flickering in his eyes. "Tell me something, Lucius, did you kill Tsar Romanov and his father?"
"Yes," Lucius answered without hesitation. "Why?"
