"No. I don't want you to stop," Ivy said.
Roderick took a step ahead when the phone in Ivy's sling bag, which was on the floor, began ringing.
"Ignore it," Ivy said.
"Are you sure?" Roderick lifted the gaze from the bag to her.
"Yeah." She swallowed with her heart pounding in her chest. "Let's just go inside."
Without another word, Roderick took her into the bedroom. The soft glow of the bedside lamp cast warm shadows across the room as he gently laid her down on the mattress.
Ivy propped herself up on her elbows, her fingers trembling as they reached for the buttons of his shirt. She had never imagined this moment with Roderick, never thought she would be the one unfastening his clothes with anticipation curling in her stomach.
A part of her questioned if this was right. If she was making a mistake. But her heart had never been so certain. She wanted to do it with him.
