Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 5.5: WHAT HAPPENED THAT DAY (part_2)

Present

The reporters and onlookers gasped, their faces pale and shocked. A brave reporter stepped forward, breaking the heavy silence. "What happened next? Do you think this was a murder, or did she kill herself?"

Shadow looked up, his eyes blazing with rage. He took a deep breath, his voice calm but firm. "I am telling you what happened. Please cooperate and listen to the full story first." The reporter nodded, taking his seat, ready to hear the truth.

Past

Shadow closed his eyes, drifting back to the horrifying scene where his sister's body lay lifeless. His hands trembled as he fought back tears, glancing at the police who had found her.

"Sir, it was the locals who called us," one officer said, his voice steady but sympathetic. Shadow nodded attentively, his heart racing. "Okay. Okay," he managed to say, taking a deep breath. "Where is the ambulance?"

The officer replied, "It is near, sir. We understand this is difficult. Please come with us." Shadow nodded, covering his sister's face with his shirt as he lifted her into the ambulance. He closed the door one last time, looking at her face, tears falling onto the ambulance floor. He grabbed her hand and hugged it tightly, the ambulance member rocking him gently with comforting words.

Days turned into weeks, but there were no leads in Asha's death case. The people forgot, the media moved on, and the police lost interest. But Shadow didn't forget. He searched everywhere—from her friends to her colleagues—but it was always a dead end. Slowly, he began to lose hope.

Then, one day, he saw a photo of his sister and slapped himself. "I can't sit here and do nothing," he said, determination igniting within him. "I will take this into my own hands. This country will pay the price. Asha, watch from heaven. I will bring justice, no matter what." His eyes filled with rage and resolve.

Shadow took his black coat and bike keys, piercing the darkness with speed. He stopped at Asha's hospital, wearing a black cap to shield himself from CCTV. He snuck into the control room while the staff took a break for a smoke. Quickly, he downloaded the CCTV footage from that day and casually walked out, riding his bike home.

Once inside, he locked the door with a soft click, took out his laptop, and connected the USB. Hours passed as he searched for the footage. He found Asha entering the seminar hall after their last phone call. The next part was a blur, but he refused to lose hope.

Finally, after hours of searching, he spotted a man looking at his sister with lustful eyes. Shadow snapped a photo on his phone and began searching for that man in the nearby streets.

Exhausted, he sat on a bench at a tea stall and ordered a cup. A small boy working at the stall approached him. "Um, brother, I've seen this man before," the boy said, his eyes wide with recognition.

Shadow's heart raced. "Where have you seen him? Do you know his name?"

The boy nodded. "His name is Roy. He's a very bad person—always harasses girls. But the police don't do anything to him." He glanced around, lowering his voice. "He has connections with powerful people. Don't tell anyone, okay?"

Shadow's mind raced. Finally... a clue! Yes! he screamed internally.

He quickly took out his bike and called his best friend. "I found a lead! I'm sending you the photo and name. I want every detail on him now." His friend nodded seriously and hung up.

After a long hour, Shadow received the information about Roy. He had been arrested and put in prison for raping a young girl. Shadow's blood boiled. He drove home, preparing the necessary things for what he had planned. That day, he killed Roy.

Present

The media, the people, and the police listened in shocked disbelief and horror as Shadow recounted his story. The atmosphere shifted to a somber tone, thick with emotion. The reporter sighed heavily, struggling to process the weight of Shadow's words. "Then what happened? How did your best friend betray you? How is our CM involved in this? Just how?"

Shadow looked at them, tears mingling with anger in his eyes. "This CM is a scammer!" he shouted, his voice echoing with conviction. The room fell silent, the gravity of his words hanging in the air, as everyone awaited the next revelation in this tragic tale.
