Chikapei watched as the soldiers from the Jieke Group suddenly attacked; the glass dropped from his hands and shattered on the floor, spilling red wine everywhere.
Terrified, he quickly called the manor's security, shouting loudly, "What are you doing? What do you want? This is a private manor, get out of here now, leave my house!"
No one listened to him except for the security personnel.
"Protect the gentlemen and ladies!"
The security personnel shouted tremblingly, their voices shaky, as they instinctively wanted to flee from the Jieke Group soldiers.
But finding a security job here wasn't easy, the benefits were good and the salary was high. If they ran now, they would certainly lose their jobs, not to mention potentially earning the resentment of the powerful, who could easily have them thrown to the fishes.
Besides, surely the attackers wouldn't just open fire? After all, these were dignitaries from the Southern Three Prefectures. A death would be a major incident.
