Gregory saw Eva walking back to the car and started it; he was quiet as she entered; his fingers were quietly drumming on the steering wheel.
Eva got in and closed her door, "Done," She announced.
Gregory nodded and drove the car away, still not speaking to her.
Eva frowned. "That's it? You're not going to ask me anything?" She faced him as she clicked her seatbelt beside her.
Gregory was quiet for a while before responding, "I don't need to ask you."
"Huh?" She tilted her head to the side and stared at Gregory in confusion. "What do you mean?" She questioned.
"I heard everything, Ms. Eva. It's connected to my earpiece, how else am I supposed to know if you're still safe in there?" Gregory glanced at her briefly.
"Oh..." Eva relaxed against the chair, pursing her lips.
She should have thought about that earlier.
"You sounded so convincing back there...you were so real...like your old self," Gregory casually mentioned, but Eva still caught the little frown on his face.
