Marcus and Fionna made it back at exactly eleven hours and fifty-six minutes. But the wait on Daemon's part had felt like the passage of a life time.
Taking in Marcus reports on how everything had gone well, he stiffened when Marcus started to report on Rose Lightelf and her previous notorious reputation among the Red Sisters.
Marcus noticed that at the end of his report. Hesitantly, he asked, "Might I ask who this Rose Lightelf is?"
Daemon crushed the quill he was holding in his hands until it reduced into dust while anger shook his entire body like a lone leaf in the wake of a violent winter .
"Just a bastard under the employ of this man called Master. My mother wrote of her in her diaries. Says she is someone who will aide their great cause." He answered as the implication of Marcus' findings weighed on him.
"I suppose you know more than just that," Marcus added carefully as though if he spoke more the he would poke at Daemon's already sour mood.
