Chapter 16 - A slow awakening ~ A painful beginning.

He awoke as if for the first time, each of his individual senses coming back to him one by one. His tiny heart fluttered in his chest, he could hear his blood pulse through his body as he slowly began to feel once more. Cold, hard wood floors were to his back creeping a chill up his spine... Then, once again, he felt air enter his lungs and exit once more. Slowly a tingle like pins throughout his skin began to awaken him, his body now taking commands from his mind. His hands flexed and moved, his arms reached upward slightly as his open eyes struggled to take in anything. He was blind for a moment, before even that began to come back to him.

Everything had a light haze around it, blurred like a fog that was slowly lifting to reveal a ceiling high above. His ears began to ring as he came to for the first time, and after a few minutes of waiting he was back to normal. His tiny eyes flashed around the room from where he lay, trying to figure out exactly what was happening to him and where he was. Last he knew, he was in his bedroom safe in bed... And now, he was here.

Then, he heard it. The light patting of footsteps coming his way, but they began to increase in sound. While they were familiar, he still could feel something was... Off, about them.

Slowly he slid himself up to his elbows, just in time to see the underside of Alex's sole slide over him. Her toes brushed his face as they passed, and without hesitation the ball of her foot slammed down on his tiny form. He lifted his arms and legs in protest, but they were no match for her sheer weight. A tinge of pleasure shot through his pelvis, up his spine as he registered what was happening in that split second - He was being stepped on.

That pleasure ended abruptly as his vision faded once more, replaced with the sickening sound of his bones crackling and popping beneath her weight as she stepped forward. He could feel her lift her foot to check what she had stepped on, but the pain and ringing in his ears cut out all of his thoughts. Floating once more, he felt himself disappear into nothing... Dead again before he could even gather where he was.
